When we decided to launch our regional business awards in 2018, Paul Waite a proud champion of SMEs committed to become the main sponsor of these awards. Since then, we have seen 18,200 SMEs enter the awards, 192 winners crowned and £150,000 raised for our Charity Cherishers. Due to the success of our regional awards, we launched our first Great British Business National Awards in 2022.
Through Paul’s sponsorship commitment Great British Expos and our awards have been able to launch our charity Cherishers. Cherishers offers meaningful employment to those in our community who have barriers to traditional employment. Cherishers also supports the most vulnerable in the community by providing befriending, home care and free lunch clubs. The charity has gone from strength to strength and now employs over 30 people and helps 700+ families a week.
The relationship between Great British Expos and Aspen Waite was strengthen during the COVID pandemic. Being in the events industry our income stream dried up overnight due to the governments lockdown measures. However being true friends of Business, Aspen Waite reached out to us and supported us through the pandemic by financially and emotionally.
Collectively we run a series of online sessions designed at helping business owners during those perilous times. Aspen Waite also supported us in hosting the UK’s first online virtual SME Exhibitions. During this period we both helped over 10,000 SMEs by them attending our online workshops and exhibitions.
However, our greatest achievement was working with Aspen Waite in hosting and delivering the first virtual award ceremonies at Lion’s house. A TV studio was created at Lion’s House and Paul Waite hosted the awards. The awards ceremony also some of their artists on Aspen Waite Radio performed, Dame Stephanie Shirley deliver a powerful keynote virtually and the amazing technical team at Aspen Waite made it all happen. Over 400 businesses attended the virtual awards, and it was a huge success that many people still talk about today.
Our account manager Tina Fincham has been an incredible support for The team at Great British Expos and has helped nurture our relationship over the years. Her constant support is invaluable to us and we are extremely grateful.
After working closely for some many years we genuinely consider Aspen Waite to be part of our family. We are so happy that you are celebrating your 30th year in Business and wish you every success for the future!
Your friends at Great British Expos!

In 2001 I had a problem with my auditors which was quite a big company
They came and didn't know anything about my business and I spent a lot of time with them trying to sort things out. I was starting to get fed up with them .
Through an introduction I met up with Paul.
My first impressions of Paul were that he was a very assertive man, but after a while I found out that it was all to do with confidence , and his bark was not as bad as his bite
During the long association we have had we have had many disagreements, which is all perfectly healthy to our strong relationship
Paul has done a lot for my company, including introducing me to R and D
And by earning me money with R and D he has saved my company in taxes.
The huge plus in our relationship, is that he is always personally there if I need him.
He has always given me good advice to the best of his ability , which sometimes I have taken and sometimes I haven't!
I shall always be proud to introduce Paul and his company to anyone.
I feel quite honoured to write these few words of appreciation for Paul and his company.
