Jan Hendriks, de vorige landeigenaar, kwam op het

idee om een 9-holes-golfbaan te ontwikkelen. De

plannen waren er en er werd uiteindelijk land gekocht om een 18-holes-baan te maken. Helaas kwamen zijn plannen niet van de grond. Robert van der Wallen

kocht de grond samen met de plannen voor een

Bernardus is not only the name of an impressive golf course in the Dutch town of Cromvoirt located close to 's Hertogenbosch, but also of a sensuous selection of wines that takes any occasion to the next level.

Owner Robert van der Wallen is an entrepreneur to the bone. After selling his company, which specialises in loyalty programmes, he had the opportunity to invest in a golf course. The current golf course was once located on cornfields. Jan Hendriks, the previous landowner, came up with the idea of developing a 9-hole golf course. The plans were there and land was eventually purchased to make an 18-hole course.

Unfortunately, his plans did not materialise. Robert van der Wallen bought the land along with the plans for an 18-hole course. Jan Hendriks had already been in touch with US architect Kyle Phillips and his design,

In addition, with an impressive Gault&Millau score of 19.5 out of 20, it is clear that Jonnie and Thérèse belong to the absolute top of the world of gastronomy, in the Netherlands and far beyond.

Not only do they excel in their own kitchen, but the pair also regularly seek inspiration elsewhere.

What materials have you worked with?

For the entire project, we worked with four natural materials. Oak veneer, darkened to meet the client's specific wishes and create a sixties atmosphere, was the basis. Bronzed brass was used for all the metal work.

This metal was imported directly from Italy. For the façade, we opted for piedra Campaspero, a Spanish natural stone, which we also used indoors for floors, specific walls and various tailor-made work. The exterior façade and exterior flooring received a rougher finish, while in the interior we incorporated custom stone in honed versions.

Hoe hebben jullie de omgeving van dit project vertaald naar de inrichting?

Deze hebben namelijk invloed op de verkoopbaarheid van de woning. We delen daarom graag onze expertise met onze klanten om de waarde van het pand te optimaliseren. Zo is bijvoorbeeld de aanwezigheid van een staffroom, fitnessroom en wellness een must in de hogere prijscategorie van woningen. Soms gaat het om ogenschijnlijk kleine zaken, zoals de toegankelijkheid van de technische ruimtes van zwembad en woning zonder dat het onderhoudspersoneel toegang moeten hebben tot het privégedeelte van de woning, maar deze zijn minstens even belangrijk. Als bepaalde wensen in strijd zouden zijn met deze zakelijke benadering, doen we er alles aan om de klant ook mee te nemen in deze kant van het verhaal.

How did you translate the environment of this project into the interior design?

The views of the Mediterranean Sea and Monte Mayor formed the essence of our design for this property in Benahavis. Every aspect of the villa is deliberately oriented towards the sea. Instead of the usual positioning of sinks against a wall, we turned them towards the sea, with a suspended mirror for maximum contact with the stunning views. We reconsidered every position of every piece of furniture, with the aim of orienting everything as much as possible towards the breathtaking panorama.

With each project, we carefully take into account the surroundings, as well as several key parameters. These significantly influence the marketability of the property.

Therefore, we are keen to share our expertise with our clients to optimize the value of the property. For instance, amenities such as a staff room, fitness room, and wellness area are essential in the higher price range of homes.

Sometimes, seemingly minor details like the accessibility of the technical areas of the pool and house without maintenance staff needing access to the private section of the residence are equally crucial. If certain preferences conflict with this business-oriented approach, we strive to ensure that the client understands this aspect of the story as well.

We reconsidered every position of every piece of furniture, with the aim of orienting everything as much as possible towards the breathtaking panorama.

Who are the buyers of your artwork?

My audience is very diverse: some people buy my works almost impulsively, without thinking much about the cost. Others save up for years so they can then afford one of my works. What they all have in common is that they buy my work purely by emotion, because they believe it is beautiful. I love this recognition, that photography is also art and deserves its place alongside painting and sculpture.

What sparked your passion for cars and rallies?

All my life, I have been a car enthusiast. The various
