You have a rich track record with exhibitions as far away as the United States, how did that come about?

"I quickly made the decision to make photography my profession. Therefore, from the beginning, I spent a lot of time on so-called 'free work'. This way people could discover my visual language, and it also gave me the opportunity to try out different things, so that I could continue to question and develop my approach, style and interests. Wherever I went, I took pictures. Every location was an opportunity for me to do free work.

I love to teach, but I certainly don't have a monopoly on truth, and I regard those moments more as some sort of cross-pollination, a fascinating synergy. I pass on knowledge, but I learn just as much from others."
