LEADERS STAFFING SAFETY ORIENTATION Leaders Staffing cares for the safety of our employees. The following information outlines general safety practices for a safe work environment. All employees must follow all plant safety rules!

ďƒž Hazardous Communication Labeling: Globally Harmonized System (GHS) The Globally Harmonized System of Chemical Classification (GHS) uses a common and consistent approach to labeling and classifying chemical hazards across the world to ensure environmental health and workplace safety. This synchronized system covers hazardous chemicals that include substances, mixtures, and preparations. It was developed to better unify chemical standards and classifications across the world in order to increase safety in international commerce.

GHS Safety Data Sheets (Formerly MSDS) Safety data sheets provide comprehensive information on a substance or mixture for use in a workplace. The information enables an employer to develop and implement proper worker protection measures specific to their workplace. It also suggests the best ways for a workplace to protect its surrounding environment from the hazardous chemicals it uses. The GHS safety data sheet sections go in the following order: 1. Identification 2. Hazard(s) identification 3. Composition/ information on ingredients 4. First-aid measures 5. Fire-fighting measures 6. Accidental release measures 7. Handling and storage 8. Exposure control/ personal protection 9. Physical and chemical properties 10. Stability and reactivity 11. Toxicological information 12. Ecological information 13. Disposal considerations 14. Transport information 15. Regulatory information 16. Other information.

SAFETY ORIENTATION Continued…  Lockout/Tag out- All employees must be made aware of the lock out /tag out training. Do not operate any machines or equipment with these tags or devices. Do not remove any tags or devices. Only authorized personnel may do so.

 Emergency stops or E-stops – These or similar devices are located on machines and equipment and are utilized to immediately cut power to equipment or a zone in the event of an emergency so that care can be provided.

 Guarding- Guarding is used to protect employees from coming into contact with moving parts that can pose serious injury, including amputations and even death. Under no circumstance should a guard be bypassed, disabled or reached around. Guarding can include light curtains, physical restraints, cages or other means.  Chemical Disposal-It is unlawful and against Company policy to dispose of any chemicals down drains as they must be disposed of using the proper methods.  Confined Spaces – Do not enter confined spaces unless you have been properly trained and certified. All confined spaces should be labeled. You must inform Leaders Staffing if you are assigned to a position which would require you to enter a designated confined space.  Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – PPE is provided to all employees for their own safety: All employees must use required PPE. LEADERS STAFFING  Blood Borne Pathogens (BBP) – In the event that you or a coworker suffer an injury where blood or other bodily fluid is present, your responsibility is to allow designated, trained and immunized first-aid responders to tend to the injured person and appropriately clean up any mess. If you have not been properly trained and immunized, then stay-away unless instructed by proper authorities.  Hot Work/Fire Watch/Welding These operations may require special permitting and training. Special procedures will be in place to assure safe practices are followed to include required PPE to protect workers from injury such as flame retardant clothing, sleeves, gloves and welding masks. Never look directly at the welding processes when others are welding. This should be done behind welding curtains and away from a direct line of vision and flammable materials.  Fire Safety – During your on-site tour pay close attention to the nearest exits and locations of fire extinguishers. In the event of fire, proceed to the nearest exit, meet in your designated area for attendance and do not leave. Not all fire extinguishers are alike. Do not use fire extinguishers unless you have been trained in the proper use of specific fire extinguishers.  Emergency Shelters – During your on-site tour pay close attention to the nearest emergency shelters for weather related events. Do not leave these areas until instructed by proper authorities. Ask about any site specific emergency procedures.  Proper Lifting/Back Safety – Using proper lifting techniques helps eliminate stress and strain on your back. Always lift with your legs and not your back. Stretch before and during your shift or task. Hold the package close to your body, keeping your legs shoulder width apart. Turn your whole body, don’t twist at the waist when holding a load. Ask for assistance if needed. When working with a partner, pay attention to their movements and work together when lifting or carrying heavy loads.  Working at Heights/Ladder Safety- Our employees are not authorized to work at heights over 6ft., which would require fall harness protection. Use of ladders is prohibited without proper training.  Crane Safety-Any employee working on or near employees doing overhead work, should be wearing a hard hat. Specialized training and demonstrated proficiency is required in order to be qualified to operate cranes. This includes being qualified for doing the required checks before use, daily, weekly, monthly and ability to understand the rating requirements of the equipment.  Mobile Equipment Operator- This includes operation of fork lifts, electric pallet jacks, scissor lifts and other equipment. All employees working in a facility where this equipment is operating must be alert at all times to traffic and recognize you must make eye contact with the operator and be acknowledged before entering or crossing any area where traffic exists. Horns should be used and seat belts worn on forklifts. Operators must be trained and tested in order to be qualified as a mobile equipment operator. You will receive additional site specific safety instructions regarding operations, procedures and potential hazards (such as noise, chemicals, exposure, dust, vermin, etc.) when placed. Please adhere to all safety rules and regulations. If you have any concerns, please bring them to the attention of your supervisor so the issue can be addressed and or additional training provided.
