ďƒž Hazardous Communication Labeling: Globally Harmonized System (GHS) The Globally Harmonized System of Chemical Classification (GHS) uses a common and consistent approach to labeling and classifying chemical hazards across the world to ensure environmental health and workplace safety. This synchronized system covers hazardous chemicals that include substances, mixtures, and preparations. It was developed to better unify chemical standards and classifications across the world in order to increase safety in international commerce.

The information enables an employer to develop and implement proper worker protection measures specific to their workplace. It also suggests the best ways for a workplace to protect its surrounding environment from the hazardous chemicals it uses. The GHS safety data sheet sections go in the following order: 1.
