How to Maintain and Take Care Of Your Badminton Shoes Although badminton is largely an indoor sport, they still get worn out and lose traction. Even though natural wear and tear is a common concept, you want your shoes to last longer especially when you spend hours finding the perfect pair. You also do not want to spend a lot of money to replace the shoes just because the soles have lost their grip. So in order to maintain their longevity, you must maintain and take care of your shoes. Here are a few simple tips and tricks to help you maintain the new-like condition of your shoes: ● Tea Bags Don’t you just love the smell of brand-new shoes? Unfortunately, over time and with use, your shoes not only lose that scent but also can start smelling due to sweating. In order to prevent a bad stench, you can leave a couple of tea bags in your shoes overnight as well as in between training sessions. ● Protector Spray Whenever you purchase a new pair of shoes, spray them with a protector spray. Instead of trying out those new shoes, spray them with water and stain repellent. The protector spray helps keep dirt, rain, and grime from ruining the shoes. Since a coat of protector lasts for about a month, make sure to spray the shoes after every wash. ● Spot Clean With use and time, even your badminton indoor shoes can develop stubborn stains. So to get rid of those stains and give your shoes a cleaner look, do a spot clean treatment. Spot cleaning refers to scrubbing the shoes with mild sneaker shampoo from a soft bristle toothbrush. After the stain fades away, use a damp clean cloth to wipe off the shampoo. ● Re-stuff The shape of your shoes can be ruined because of toe creases, dents, and folds. So to prevent that, make sure that you restuff your shoes with either the same stuffing that came with the shoes or with crumpled newspaper before tucking them away in case you are not planning to wear them for a bit. ● Nail Polish Remover In case your shoes catch scratch marks or eyesores, pour some nail polish remover on a q-tip and then press the damp q-tip on those marks gently to give your shoes their original luster and shine. ● Shower Caps When you carry your shoes to the badminton court or store them away in the shoe cupboard, make sure to pack them in disposable shower caps. Storing them like this keeps them clean and protects them from strangling with other materials and getting torn. ASICS BADMINTON INDOOR SHOES ONLINE
