TWO senators from the majority bloc said Senator Antonio Trillanes IV must apologize for saying that the Senate acted like lapdogs instead of being the last bastion of democracy. During the Kapihan press conference, Senate Majority Floor leader Vicente Sotto III and Senator JV Ejercito shared the same sentiments urging Trillanes to apologize for his negative remarks to the Senate on Monday, July 3. “Medyo mali siguro ‘yung mga terms na ginagamit kaya nagiging offensive kasi pag sinabi mong ‘puppet,’ ang ibig sabihin nun ang MalacaĂąang ang nagdidikta kung ano ‘yung mangyayari (The terms he’s using are wrong, which makes it offensive, because if you say ‘puppet,’ it means the MalacaĂąang dictates what happens). For example the declaration of martial law, and you agree with the declaration of martial law, puppet ka na no’n (that would immediately makes you a puppet)? Hindi naman siguro (Not really),â€? Sotto said. “Instead of saying it’s the easy way out, it’s the honorable way out,â€? he added. For his part, Ejercito reminded Trillanes to address differences in a democratic way.

But Atlas’ rants didn’t stop there, as he told Horn to his face: “Congratulations, great effort, but I thought you lost. Lennox Lewis, the undisputed world heavyweight champion, also expressed outrage at the result. “This is what’s wrong with boxing. Horn was very game but I’m hard pressed to see how he could have won that fight by any stretch! he tweeted.

I am very satisfied but there were problems encountered but rest assured that we are giving attention [to these problems]and solutions, he told reporters in Camp Crame. A year ago, the Duterte administration launched a massive campaign against illegal drugs, dubbed Operation “Tokhang. The anti-drug war, which was roundly criticized by opposition lawmakers and international organizations, was briefly suspended following the killing of Korean businessman Jee Ick-Joo inside the PNP headquarters in Camp Crame,

IN what was considered as one of the greatest upsets in recent world boxing history, Manny Pacquiao lost his World Boxing Organization (WBO) Welterweight title to Jeff Horn in a stunning, unanimous decision on Sunday, July 2. Needless to say, many were shocked at the results. After all, stats from the CompuBox showed that Pacquiao landed about twice more punches than Horn. At one point during the match, the referee also warned Horn: “Show me something in the next
round or I’m gonna stop the fight. But the judges still awarded the crown to the Australian challenger after giving the final scores of 117-111, 115-113, 115-113, all in favor of Horn. While Horn’s determination was undoubtedly acknowledged, many viewers couldn’t find themselves agreeing with the three judges. Even boxing trainer and ESPN commentator Teddy Atlas expressed his frustration a second after the decision was announced. “They gave a trophy, a win, a huge win to Horn, the local kid for
