As reports continue to develop regarding the Dec. 2 shootings in san Bernardino, California, survivors of the attacks carried out by a radicalized muslim husband and wife are beginning to speak out. “I was under the table with some of the staff and we just kind of held on to each other. LA County Board of Supervisors votes to accept Syrian refugees A DIVIDeD Los Angeles County Board of supervisors approved on tuesday, Dec. 8, a motion to welcome syrian refugees to the county. the vote comes days after a mass shooting in san Bernardino killed 14 people and less than a month after 120 were killed in a mass shooting in Paris, where a syrian passport was found near the body of one of the attackers. this has led to the questions about whether at least one of the attackers may have been a syrian citizen or posing as one.

the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) task force talaba (“tanim-Laglag Bala”) on thursday, Dec. 10 filed before the Department of Justice (DoJ) criminal complaints against two employees of the office of transportation security (ots) and four personnel of the Philippine National Police Aviation security Group (Avsegroup). In a news conference, Justice Undersecretary emmanuel Caparas identified the respondents as maria elma Cena and marvin Garcia, both of the ots; and Chief Insp. Adriano D. Junio, senior Police officer 4 ramon A. Bernardo, sPo2 rolando A. Clarin and sPo2 romy U. Navarro, all of the Avsegroup. the ots is an attached agency of the Department of transportation and Communications. the DoJ listed the complainants as eloisa s. Zoleta and her stepson, Lane michael White, both of Barangay merville, Parañaque City (metro manila). the Commission on elections (Comelec) first division has disqualified sen. Grace Poe to join the 2016 presidential elections. In a 2-1 vote on friday, Dec. 11, Comelec voted to cancel Poe’s certificate of candidacy (CoC).

Comelec Commissioners Luie Guia and rowena Guanzon voted to cancel Poe’s CoC. Commissioner Christian Lim had the lone dissenting vote in the 3member division of Comelec. the Comelec ruled in favor of petitions filed by University of the east College of Law Dean Amado Valdez, former sen francisco tatad and De La salle University Professor Antonio Contreras.
