AFTER burning for nearly two weeks, the Camp Fire in Butte County — now the deadliest wildfire in U.S. history in a century — is expected to be hit with heavy rain, which has fire crews hoping for full containment, but also wary of possible landslides. As of Tuesday morning, November 20, the Camp Fire was at 70 percent containment after having blazed through 151,272 acres and destroyed roughly 12,900 homes. At least 79 have been killed as a result, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection’s (Cal Fire) latest death toll figure, and the number is expected to rise. Of those missing, nearly 700 have been reported unaccounted for, but numbers have been fluctuating as residents have come forward.

Duterte urged to stand by WPS ruling by AJPRESS PHILIPPINE President Rodrigo Duterte was urged by his critics on Tuesday, November 20 to defend the country’s claim and territorial rights in the West Philippine Sea (WPS). Former solicitor general Florin Hilbay said that the president must not put aside the country’s victory in the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) as he cited the Social Weather Stations (SWS) Activists hold a protest in front of the Chinese consular office, as Chinese survey that revealed how more President Xi Jinping arrives in the Philippines. Hilbay led the Philippine case against China over the disputed territories before the PCA in The Hague, the Netherlands in 2012. The PCA ruled in favor of the Philippines in 2016 and invalidated Beijing’s “historical maritime rights” over contested

areas in the WPS. Senator Risa Hontiveros also voiced out her similar concern as she called the tough-talking president to stop kowtowing to China and start asserting Philippine sovereignty. “Now is the perfect time for President Duterte to demonstrate to the public what he is really made of,” Hontiveros said She said Chinese President Xi Jinping’s two-day official state visit to the Philippines will serve as an important test of Duterte’s political leadership. sat. The event was streamed live on YouTube past midnight Monday (November 19), drawing close to 6,000 viewers. Earlier, in his turn at the microphone, Pacquiao said he chose to fight the 29-year-old Broner because he’s a “top-caliber fighter.” Pacquiao, who won the WBA welterweight crown with a TKO win over Lucas Matthysse last July, knows he’s taking a risk facing the ex-champion. “I chose Broner because we can have a good fight and entertain the fans. Adrien is a top caliber fighter and a good boxer. We cannot underestimate him,” he said. From New York, the two boxers will head to Los Angeles for the second and last stop of the press tour. Then it’s time to train.
