THE Philippines should not pick between China and the United States since “friendship with both countries would be beneficial” to the country, Vice President Leni Robredo said Tuesday, August 13. Interviewed on Bloomberg TV, Robredo said: “I don’t believe that the Philippines should choose between the U.S. and China, in the sense that friendship with both countries would be beneficial to the Philippines.” Robredo, however, also said that she understands President Rodrigo Duterte’s decision to rebuild ties FEAST OF SACRIFICE.
