MANILA — President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. would be “welcome” to the United States given his diplomatic immunity as a head of state, a top Washington diplomat pointed out Thursday, June 9. THE local Filipino community is the focus of the next iteration of the popular “Cultures of Las Vegas” television and podcast series. “Cultures of Las Vegas: The Filipinos” debuted on Clark County Television (CCTV) Wednesday, June 1 at 2 and 6 p.m. and airs throughout the month. The Philippines celebrates its independence on June 12. COVID-19 self-test kit vending machines installed at two locations in Southern Nevada by AJPRESS
LAS VEGAS – Southern Nevadans now have expanded access to COVID-19 testing with the opening of self-test vending machines at two locations. The Southern Nevada Health District and its partners installed two vending machines that dispense at-home self-test kits at the Regional Transportation Commission’s (RTC) Bonneville Transit Center (lobby), 101 E. Bonneville Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89101, and the Mesa View Regional Hospital (emergency department lobby), 1299 Bertha Howe Ave., Mesquite, NV 89027. Residents have already started to access test kits at both locations. A new location for a third vending machine will PAGE 2 be available soon.
The project was funded with support from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s national initiative to address COVID-19 health disparities among populations that are at high risk for infection and who are underserved, including minority and rural communities. The at-home antigen test kits are free. People who are interested in accessing the tests from the vending machines can register President Rodrigo Duterte here www.snhd.info/testkit. A PIN will be issued once registration is completed. It is recommended that a telephone number be included, but it is not required. The phone number will become the PIN if it is provided. The PIN will allow people to access any of the three vending machines and receive five tests

moving forward, Duterte said that it is crucial for Marcos Jr. to have “the cooperation and help of everybody.” “That’s democracy. That is how we operate. And ‘pag nagsalita na ‘yung taong-bayan kung sino ‘yung mga lider na gusto nila, sunod tayo (And once the people have chosen the leaders they want, we follow),” the President said. “We rally behind the elected leaders of our country. Ganoon talaga ang pamamaraan sa ating pang-gobyerno (That is the way of our government),” he added. Malacañang earlier confirmed that Duterte and Marcos Jr. will meet ahead of the latter’s June 30 inauguration although no date and venue of the faceto-face meeting have been announced.
