DATELINE CA Asian Americans celebrate statewide Paid Family Leave extension FROM THE AJPRESS NEWS TEAM ACROSS AMERICA

New law extends paid family leave benefits from six to eight weeks and increases the rate of pay THE State of California has, since 2004, been a champion of paid family leave (PFL) for those nursing a newborn child or caring for a sick relative, and the new recommendation from the governor rectifies that. FORMER Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos has to accept the 2016 election results if he plans to run for a national post in the 2022 elections, Philippine Vice President Leni Robredo said on Monday, January 20. “If he wants to run again, he can. That’s his right,” she said in Filipino during an interview. She added, “But if he runs again, he just has to make sure that he will accept the election results because if he can’t accept the results of the election, he will just drag down all the institutions.” Marcos filed an electoral protest before the Supreme Court (SC), sitting as the Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET), after he lost to Robredo in the 2016 vice presidential election.

MANILA — Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa admitted feeling bad after learning on the eve of his birthday that his US Visa had been canceled. “I sent an official letter to the US embassy inquiring from them if really my visa was canceled so I received their official answer the day before my birthday, January 20, what a good birthday gift— informing me that my visa is no longer valid for travel to the United states,” Dela Rosa told reporters on Wednesday, January 22. The senator turned 58 on Tuesday, January 21. The US government gave no reason for the cancellation of his visa but Dela Rosa suspects it might have been because of his role in the government’s brutal war on drugs especially during his time at the Philippine National Police (PNP). As then chief of the PNP, Dela Rosa led the
