Clubs & Activities

Does this sound like you?

You enjoy playing an instrument You want to have fun when practicing You want to play in an orchestra, but don’t know where to start You want to develop your sight reading Maybe you need to develop a skill for the Duke of Edinburgh award You just want to play more

If so, joining the Encore Youth Orchestra could be your best decision yet! We are a friendly group that plays a wide variety of music, from popular themes to well-known classical pieces. To help you along, we have a Strings tutor, a Brass & Woodwind tutor and a Percussion tutor who will lend a hand with sight-reading and support you as you develop your skills. We rehearse early Wednesday evenings during term-time at Manor House School, in Bookham. There are two main concerts each year, and we hold soloists’ concerts and perform at village fairs at other times. If you are between 7 and 18 years of age and play an instrument at Grade 1 or above, Encore Youth Orchestra could be your next step. Strings players are particularly welcome at the moment.

To learn more, take a look at our website. Then why not come along to a rehearsal to see for yourself what we are about? There’s no obligation; just contact Kathy at chair@encoreyouthorchestra.org (01372 458 908) or Lizzie at membership@encoreyouthorchestra.org (01483 281416). www.encoreyouthorchestra.org
