I pledge, on my honor, to uphold the Objects of Key Club International; to build my home, school and community; to serve my nation and world; and combat all forces which tend to undermine these institutions.
I'm Maria Gilani and I am so excited to be your Lieutenant Governor for the 2023 - 2024 term! We will have an amazing time together and I cannot wait to soar in service with you all. I look forward to seeing you all at our upcoming events and fundraisers. I will make sure that I fulfill my duties as your LTG and more. Thank you for taking the time to read the newsletter!

Lieutenant Lieutenant Governor Governor 2023-2024 2023-2024
Congratulations on your great Key Club year, receiving Most Performed Service per Member, and to your Immediate Past LTG Mari for receiving the Robert F. Lucas Award of Lieutenant Governor re cognition. You deserved it. You should have heard the entire Region 7 cheering for the owls as your 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 LTGs went on stage. A huge bonding moment for all of Region 7.
On April 23rd, we officially welcomed the addition of Division 16 Oasis Owls to Region 7. I have high hopes for our newly expanded Region. With everyone working together we will make it work. The “Magnificent 7”. Home to Fall Rally South. The battle for the spirit stick will be epic. Someone from Region 7 has won it every year. I look forward to meeting more of your Owls at region events and DCON 2024.

On May 18th Palmdale West Kiwanis awarded over $7,500.00 in scholarships to their sponsoring key clubbers. The following students are the awardees of $1,500.00 scholarships: IP Littlerock’s President Armando, IP Pete Knight’s 12th Grade Representative Karla, IP Pete Knight’s Editor Ashley, IP Littlerock’s Editor Luis, IP Lieutenant Governor Mari (Sara-Marie).
I had such a good time getting to watch the many awards that Kiwanis gave to students and seeing the parents going to support. They had breakfast which was great and I got to spend time with my great friend Mari Nuesca.
HAIIIIII!!! This is Ashlee signing off for the last time as a member of Key Club. I’ve made so many new friends throughout my time here (who I will miss very very much) and even pushed myself out of my comfort zone on many occasions. One thing that has not changed about me is my hatred of calling people on the phone :,) Anyways, I hope you all have an amazing future because it is always shining brightly and thank you to Key Club for bringing back the old me <3333

Hey Owls! Being a part of this club felt like home. Being involved in my community and helping people with all our service projects has been insightful and a lot of fun. I continue to meet people and grow my skills as a leader.
My advice: Don’t be afraid to soar high and away to reach your dream. Just go for it and trust the process.
Hoot! Hoot! My Parliament of Owls! You all make my heart soar! I am honored to have got to know so many of you my Mighty Owls.

Hooty hoot, Owls!
I want to start off this message by a big “THANK YOU!”
Key Club isn’t really a club, but it HAS been key to my confidence throughout these past years. I’ve made friends, found a community, and realized that there’s nothing key-ping me from being someone who can get out there, have fun, and smile at the same time! I’ve learned a lot about the world by being a Key Clubber. I’ve learned the joy of BeanBeanBean, dog toys, cardmaking, and just how integral it is to work with others. I’ve learned how reach out, how to ask for help when needed. I’ve learned how to laugh without limits
I’ve learned that, despite being a high schooler living in the sandy lands of the Antelope Valley, that I can find a beautiful oasis just at my doorstep.
This may be one of my last times hooting to you as a purple and blue owl of the lovely oasis division, but I’ll always be full of spirit from the cherished memories I’ve made with you all. Hoot hoot! Let’s fly out there, see the world, and come back to our oasis another time
On Saturday, April 15, our division held a Spring Training Conference titled “StarWarS-TC.” We decided to have this training to further prepare new officers for their upcoming term. This was also open to members. The main reason we decided to hold this training was so we could give further guidance to club officers so they do not feel lost or overwhelmed. We shared a lot of information with them and we helped them fill out a “Term Prep Guide” my IP and I came up with together. There were also snacks and we gave them some service projects they could do at home. Overall it was a great event and I enjoyed meeting some of the 2023 - 2024 club officers in the division!
Our 2023 DCON experience was amazing! We learned so much for having so much fun at the same time. From dancing the night away to a service project of making leis this was an unforgettable time and bonding experience with our division, Region 7, and CNH. I highly recommend you all to attend DCON 2024, if you get the chance!

On April 25th, Key Clubbers had the wonderful opportunity to attend Esther Young Lee’s workshop on “Know Your Rights and How to Report a Hate Crime”. This workshop was filled with rich resources, including emergency lines and Esther’s Booklet on how to document in the moment. Through this engaging workshop, our Owls learned how to react, report, and support their peers if they even experience or witness a Hate Crime.
On April 28th, our owls soared in service for the the Olive Support Services, whose mission is to support and empower individuals by making accessible the abundant available resources, training, the power of collaboration, diversity, and respect, for family and community resiliency.
We volunteered at “Olive Palooza”, where many services convened for a free community event, hosting clinics of services and activities for the whole family. Our volunteers enjoyed managing the Kid’s Jumper and the Petting Zoo.
We are so proud of our owls for coming out to support their community of the Antelope Valley.
The DCM was so much fun! We were hanging out having fun listening to music while making leis for graduates in foster care. I recommend coming to the next one!!!
