Charlie St. Cloud Scenes: -environment: beautiful scenery, simple town, realistic setting -family issues on both sides of relationship/death/divorce/etc. -risk-taking/spontaneity -music is dramatic and sweet -humor incorporated -romantic pair meets in awkward situation/initial dislike (20:18-21:04) -couple’s perception of one another shifts w/ common interest -external pressures she’s moving, he hasn’t let go of his dead brother -commonalities: loss and sailing -passion -sense of mystery-ghosts


Forehand 2 -can show true self around one another-Charlie tells her he sees dead brother (1:00:451:02:10) -gifts her a sketch

Forehand 3 Grease Scenes: -environment: begins with oceanic view, becomes realistic -couple can show true self around one another (opening scene vs when he is back home) -couple’s perception of one another changes-he acts differently around his friends and has to win her over once more (23:12) -risk-taking/spontaneity -different from one another -passion -sense of mystery-guy’s change towards girl -external pressure from peers -gifts her his ring
