JARED SIMS IS RETURNING TO ASHLAND TO PERFORM

ASHLAND – Ashland native Jared Sims will be returning home to perform “An Evening of Jazz Music” at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8, at the Ashland Theatre. By Jim Ridolphi for Ashland-Hanover Local MECHANICSVILLE -“We’re right where we want to be -- on target” were the words County Administrator Rhu Harris used to describe the current state of Hanover County. Harris was joined last week by Economic Director Linwood Thomas at the annual State of the County breakfast held at the Richmond Times-Dispatch plant in Mechanicsville and hosted by ChamberRVA and the Hanover Jim Ridolphi for The Local Chamber of Commerce. BEAVERDAM – Hanover County’s Scotchtown DAR Chapter celebrated part of its National Day of Service with a large donation to Hanover Safe Place. Each year in October the NSDAR celebrates its local service outreach with special projects. This year, to recognize both Domestic Abuse prevention and Women’s Issues, Scotchtown DAR members partnered with Thrivent to secure grant money to fund the purchase of “Clean Kits” for Hanover Safe Place. Members began in July to secure a grant for the funds, and then purchased the Clean
