Brad Clark By Melody Kinser Managing Editor MECHANICSVILLE – With a goal of paying it forward following the tragic death of his good friend Brad Clark, Matt Howell is spearheading an effort to support the work of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. The inaugural Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk is scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, leaving from Pole Green Park at 8996 Pole Green Park Lane in Mechanicsville. New County Attorney named SAES recognized by counselors’ organization with RAMP honor

MONTPELIER – South Anna Elementary School (SAES) has been named a Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP) by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA). SAES is the second elementary school and third overall in Hanover to be recognized as a RAMP school. As of 2018, only 59 Virginia schools have received this honor. The RAMP designation recognizes schools that are committed to delivering an exemplary comprehensive school counseling program and encourages school counselors nationwide to strive for excellence. see RAMP, pg. 2

Walter, who has been a Deputy County Attorney for Hanover County since August 2014, has been named by the Hanover County Board of Supervisors to be County Attorney effective Wednesday, May 1. Walter replaces Sterling Rives, who retired effective March 1. W.
