I am motivated to study abroad in order to broaden my international outlook while simultaneously strengthening my professional abilities. I am especially eager to become acquainted with different architectural and landscape architectural design styles and techniques. I have never had the desire to become a great architect. Instead, I strive to become great at everything I wish to achieve, therefore allowing greatness to transcend into all aspects of who I am. With this philosophy intact, I believe that as my purpose in life unfolds, I will be a success. I have chosen architecture and landscape architecture in which to excel at, because I understand that as a designer, I have an opportunity to evoke change through reinterpretation of human interaction with the built environment.

I am fascinated by architecture and landscape architecture because of the melding of science and art towards creating something that has utility and beauty, impacts on the environment of many people and that will stand perhaps for generations. Project Statement The master plan pier 36 of lower east Manhattan as a priority for waterfront development and creating the Festival Pier for the neighborhoods. By considering the principals for convincing public spaces, walkable residential areas and sustainability of this project.

The site location consists of 0.48 acre of land at the intersection of 2nd Avenue North and Roberts Street North, Downtown Fargo. This space is currently utilized as a parking lot. Through the analysis of the development regulation of downtown, 100% can be utilized for new development.

By understanding the nature of downtown living environment and its surroundings, it is more ideal to develop wider pedestrian access and public amenities to integrate people with recreational activities. The underlying idea of this design is to create a sustainable public place beside street, develop the idea of indoor public space within a private property and a sustainable roof garden for all seasons.

The prime objective of this design to make a privately Owned Public Space both in outdoor and indoor area where people can spend their time in a desirable environment.

HISTORY, ANALYTICS AND RESTORATION OF RED RIVER WETLAND PARK IN FM DIVERSION, FARGO, ND Fargo-Moorhead Area Diversion Project The Fargo-Moorhead (FM) Area Diversion Project is a flood control project on the Red River of the North that borders North Dakota to the west and Minnesota to the east. It was developed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Metro Flood Diversion Authority.

The project was expected to begin construction in early 2017 at a cost of $2.2 Billion.

Once operational, the Project will protect the Fargo-Moorhead metropolitan area from catastrophic flooding. Fargo has been challenged by flooding since the city was founded in the 1800s.

The Red River flows north to Lake Winnipeg in Manitoba, Canada.

The River has flooded the Fargo-Moorhead area numerous times including 1997, 2009 and 2011.

The Project includes a 30-mile Diversion Channel that starts just south of Horace, ND, an embankment south of the metro area and a series of levees along the Red River through the Fargo-Moorhead metro area.

Context Map

Design The FM Area Diversion Project includes three components: A 30-mile diversion channel, in-town levees, and a southern embankment with upstream staging.

The Diversion channel is 1,500 feet wide and can move 20,000 cubic feet of water per second. The upstream staging area is 32,500 acres that will only be used during times of extreme flooding with more than 35 feet in Fargo (10-year-event).

The three components combined reduce the river level during a 100-year flood from 42.4 feet to 35 feet,[13] thus saving the metropolitan area from damage. Although it's not designed to prevent damages from a 500-year flood event, the FM area Diversion Project would reduce the river level in Fargo from 46.7 feet to 40 feet during a 500-year event, making larger flood events fightable.

Economics and the Public Private Partnership (P3) The FM Area Diversion Project would protect the local economy, which generates $4.35 billion in annual non-farming wages and over $2.77 billion in annual taxable sales along with $14 billion in property value.

The Project is also being constructed using a Public-Private Partnership. The Metro Flood D iversion Authority will use the P3 method to construct the diversion channel portion of the Project. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is using traditional design-bid-build methods to complete the southern embankment portion of the project. The Project will be the first federal U.S. Army Corps of Engineers project to ever be implemented using a P3 delivery method.

-Wetland ecosystems that are dominated by native plant species typically support a greater variety of wildlife than those dominated by non-native species. Native plants provide important habitats and food sources for a range of animals, from insects and birds to amphibians and fish.

-Native plants in wetlands can help to improve water quality by filtering pollutants, reducing erosion, and absorbing excess nutrients. This can help to reduce the impacts of human activities on wetland ecosystems and improve the health of downstream water bodies.

-Native wetland plants can also help to sequester carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases, helping to mitigate the impacts of climate change.

The water quality structure of wetlands is characterized by their ability to remove and transform pollutants and nutrients, and to maintain a balance between the water and sediment in the wetland ecosystem.

-Sedimentation: Wetlands are effective at removing sediments and suspended solids from the water column. As water flows through a wetland, the sediments settle out and are trapped in the wetland soil, helping to clarify the water.

-Chemical transformations: Wetlands can also transform pollutants and contaminants in the water column, through processes such as adsorption, precipitation, and microbial degradation. This can help to reduce the concentration of harmful substances and make the water safer for downstream use.

-Habitat: Wetlands provide important habitat for a range of aquatic and terrestrial species. A healthy wetland ecosystem can support a diverse array of plant and animal life, contributing to biodiversity and ecosystem resilience.

Design concept: 10th Street North is a one road and it vehicles speed (30 mi/hr) is mostly higher. To limit the speed at the junction of 2nd Avenue and 10th street I level change has been proposed in design and reduction of road width is introduced at this junction along with universal accessibility for pedestrians. Drop off lane is added immediate after the intersection of 2nd Avenue and 10th street. New bicycle zone has been added on west side of 10th Street and there is buffer zone beside the Buick lane. Sitting arrangements also been added both side of the road. Bio filtration is added on East side road. To make more lively of this road more regional plants has been introduced both side of 10th street , which will also make more comfortable zone for pedestrians.

Design concept of this project to create distinct identity of commercial and residential part with in same building. There for I used glass facade with dynamic form for commercial part on the other hand residential has solid facade with projected balcony.
