If your residential or commercial property is burgled, it may take police up to 48 hours to attend the scene. That is at least what Ashburton’s top cop Matt Emery had to say when the Ashburton Guardian took concerns from a local business owner about delays he had experienced after his shop had been burgled. “It is in our guidelines that we should be attending 98 per cent of burglaries within 48 hours of them being reported to us,” Senior Sergeant Matt Emery said.
