Ashburton Hospital is about to undergo a significant change in leadership that will ensure the right facilities and services are developed for the district. A proposal that will see Ashburton moved out from the umbrella of Rural Health Services to become a separate entity with its own leadership team was rolled out to staff at the hospital yesterday. In announcing the change, Canterbury District Health Board general manager for people and capability
Michael Frampton said the proposal was part of a drive that recognised the need for locally focused and integrated health services for the Ashburton District. “This proposal is to change the existing leadership structure for Ashburton and Rural Health Services in order that Ashburton leadership can focus on Ashburton,” he said.
