HIDDEN ILLUSTRATIONS Studio | Gallery | Individual | Fall 2023 | Rome, Italy | Instructor: Andrew Kranis A project that takes place in Campo Testaccio, Rome, the Hidden Illustrations art gallery is a project that is meant to show how a building can be inserted within a greenspace without confiscating attention from it.

The project takes inspiration from works such as the Guggenheim Museum in New York and The Vertical Living Gallery in Thailand. The project is a culmination of many design techniques from the exterior facade/ rain screen to the interior continuous ramp replacing the typical floor system.

From the ground up the project has a ground floor devoted to the main entry and working space. This main entry point and the back exit point are where the skylight in the roof can be experienced at its best.

The main floor of the project is where the helix ramp can be experienced and the use of bamboo can be seen as a core material used throughout the interior. The open floor plan and the skylight working in tandem allow for light to reach pivotal points on the interior.

The exterior rain screen is meant to serve two duties, protect the core building from tree contact and provide a sustainable living green wall. This is done with a drip line living wall system encased in bamboo that is then connected to the core building through steel beams.

LAKE RESIDENCE SHM Architects Internship | Residential | Individual | Summer 2023 | Dallas, Texas This Cedar Creek Lake residence project aimed for seamless integration of interior and landscape, prioritizing entertaining and hosting spaces.

Each intern was represented by a project architect, mirroring a project’s lifecycle. Weekly client meetings drove the iterative process, offering valuable lessons in client interaction and responsiveness to their needs, resulting in a final product that delighted the client.

An open/porous floor plan and elevation. A significant request from the client that the project pursues in the design. The project is broken up into 4 modules, each having an emphasis on glazing to meet the request for porousness and connection to the exterior. A complimenting design point is the robust limestone walls that divide the modules up per their program.

ENCOMPASSING WAVE Studio | Library | Group | Fall 2022 | Springdale, Arkansas | Partners: Rube Carrigan & Cole Chaney | Instructor: Nathaniel Elberfeld A project set in the heart of Springdale, Arkansas, the Encompassing Wave is a library project that tests the boundaries of form and how it can meet the ground. The project is intended to be a space that can give the community a surplus of educational resources and amenities. The form heightens this intention with it being such a complex design for the sake of producing a recognizable monument in a community craving architectural innovation and design.

The project was grounded on designing a mass timber structure with the plan being sprawled through a vast site. The interior is meant to echo the exterior by letting the form be experienced in both so that rather than hiding it, it receives its desired attention.

GRADE SCHOOL LIAG Architects Internship | Education | Team | Summer 2022 | The Hague, Netherlands The following renderings are from an internship in the Netherlands where amongst a myriad of tasks, assignments, and experiences, I was assigned to be the core developer of the visualization of a grade school project that was nearing its construction phase. This experience helped me develop a better understanding of visualization, establishing a scene, and spotlighting critical design moments.

POCKET NEIGHBORHOOD Studio | Residential | Individual | Spring 2023 | Fayetteville, Arkansas | Instructor: Stephen Luoni A project set in Fayetteville, Arkansas, the project is a pocket neighborhood that can be described as a collection of varying residential units embracing a core greenspace. The idea of the pocket neighborhood is offering an alternative to common high-density housing with a centered amenity, this greenspace ties the buildings and streets together to establish a community.

The project consists of five building types with a total of 14 buildings, 30 units, and 34 beds. The units are arranged so the one-story duplex acts as a threshold that calls for people to enter through the main green space. The tower unit acts as a punctual ending of the project and its relation to the street. Moving deeper into the project the unit type grows in size until the end of the main green space where the corners are blurred into smaller green spaces with the towers to close the ends.
