We Opened Doors to an Accessible Education Dear Mr. and Mrs. Greenberg, I would like to thank you for the donations you have made to Ashbury College to establish the Greenberg Family Scholarship. Your generosity allowed me to attend Ashbury last year for grade 9. It was my first year at Ashbury and I absolutely loved everything about it. I have always aimed high and Ashbury offered me so many different programs and classes such as the International Baccalaureate. The more I get to know Ashbury, the more I discover wonderful aspects of my school beyond academics.

On the first day of school I was nervous about making friends and if I would meet the academic standards. As the first couple of days flew by, I quickly felt at home. I made lots of friends and I loved all my teachers. They were so supportive and went out of their way to help me. They truly care about my progress and success.

I enjoy the challenges that come with my courses and I am very motivated. I have discovered my passion for literature and languages. I have also discovered how much I love sports. Before coming to Ashbury, I was more focused on music but in gym class, I have been improving and it helps that I am a naturally competitive person.

I am also taking part in two co-curricular activities. The first one is the String Ensemble which goes with my musical background. I really enjoy participating because we play a variety of music, not just the classical music that I am used to.

The second co-curricular I am doing is the Spanish Club. Spanish class is one of my favorite classes and the Spanish Club is the perfect complement. I recently helped organize the Spanish Fiesta and learned so much about the Spanish speaking world and their culture (such as the food)!

When I was interviewed last year, I said that I wanted to be a doctor or a professional musician. Ashbury has opened so many new windows that I am now exploring other avenues. I know that whatever I want to be, Ashbury will have provided me with the academic and personal support I need to make my dream become a reality. Once again, thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to attend Ashbury College.

We Left Our Mark

o you remember what your class gift was? The tradition at Ashbury College for the graduating class to leave their mark on our school has reigned strong over the years. Each year, the graduating class give a gift to the school to commemorate their time on campus.

Last year we achieved a participation rate of 97% for the class of 2014. Gifts made to the Graduating Class Fund provided a memorial tree and mahogany bench on our campus. We’re excited to see what this year’s class gift idea will be.

The grade 12 class would like to thank all who supported their efforts. Whether you supported our grad dinner and dances or the fundraising activities scheduled throughout the year- Thank You!
