ATS Newsbrief November 2015
It has been a busy time at ATS over recent weeks, with one of the annual highlights, the Ashburton A&P Show once again providing a fantastic opportunity for town and country to come together. Both ATS and Ruralco staff enjoy the chance to mingle and interact with members and this year was no exception, with a great couple of days had by all. Staff have also been busy preparing the latest ATS Annual Report, which all Shareholders should have received in their mailbox by now. This report outlines the financial performance of your co-operative for the 2014/2015 financial year ended 30 June, and is distributed in time for this month’s Annual General Meeting. I am pleased to report we have had a good result. Highlights include the repayment of $3.7M of debt, which means ATS had no long term loans at the end of the financial year, and we also finished the year with $1.1M cash on hand. while a considerable decrease in expenses also led to an improved operational cashflow. Another highlight saw ATS’s net assets valued at $15.2M compared to $11.2M pre-Ruralco in 2012—this is a $4M improvement. ATS is well positioned for the future, with capital commitment needed for building work on its Burnett Street site approved and due to commence next year. The co-operative has already determined it is important that all Ashburton ATS staff should be accessible on one site, and the development work on this building will ensure this is achieved. More information on the co-operative’s financials and future plans will be provided at the AGM, with Directors and staff available to answer your questions. I would urge you to mark the date on the calendar and come along to ensure you remain fully informed about your co-operative. The AGM is on Monday 16 November at 7.30pm at the Valetta and Arrowsmith Lounges at the Hotel Ashburton, Racecourse Road, Ashburton. We look forward to seeing you there.
