ATS Newsbrief April 2013

Neal Shaw, Chief Executive

Those of you who have been to Ashburton recently may have noticed the new ATS branding on the former Electricity Ashburton building in Kermode Street.

11 April

This space has created a great opportunity to promote our brand, but it has also led to some confusion and assumptions among members.

For more information or to RSVP call 0800 BUY ATS (289 287) or email book@ats.co.nz by Tuesday 5 April.

Some are wondering if ATS is on the move or has been relocated, so it is timely to clarify where different aspects of the business are currently located and why.

The rural supplies operation (i.e. Ashburton retail store), Customer Service, ATS Seed, and ATS Energy are still operating in the original ATS building on Burnett Street. The administration team was relocated almost three years ago to the Goodman, Tavendale and Reid building on Havelock Street (formerly Kennedy, Mee and Co) because of a shortage of space within the ATS Ashburton building. This is where all of the invoicing and processing for members accounts comes from. In the week before Christmas it became necessary to find an alternative site for the ATS Partnership Services team, Marketing, IT, the Executive Assistant and myself, following the closure of part of the ATS Ashburton building as a result of earthquake damage. Fortunately office space was secured and these staff were able to relocate to the first floor of the former Electricity Ashburton building on Kermode Street. This move allowed the Customer Service team to continue functioning at the ATS Ashburton, Burnett Street site, with this team occupying the former marketing area.

Ideally we would like to have all staff based on the one site and that is something we will be working towards over the next two or three years. Once we have clarity on the results of the engineering reports on the Burnett Street building and what is needed to bring that building up to code, we will be in a better position to make decisions.

ATS Ashburton will be closed. If members have any urgent requirements the Duty Manager can be reached on 03 307 5100 or 027 487 6865.

Despite these changes it is very much business as usual for ATS members. Our Customer Service team is able to direct any enquiries you may have to the correct people and general enquires can still be made at reception in the ATS Ashburton Burnett Street store.
