The second body is a creature without boundaries, drawn by a desire to link to particular moments via its movements.Site studies focusing on these movements resulted in a kinetic bridge, an experimental and wobbly structure created from rebars. It is comprised of bridge walkways connecting 3 zones of the site with 3 small concrete volumes. The second body's engagement with Hackney Wick provided the impetus of a critical approach to the gentrification of the neighbourhood. The bridge is constructed with rebar, cantilevering from the rebar supports projecting from the concrete slabs of the building volumes. The rebar walkways are tuned for varying degrees of shakiness and wobbliness; therefore is a distinctive, playfully destabilizing structure. The place is meant to be where people from the local communities can walk, meet, encounter & engage, and sometimes gather to collectively shake & rattle the building, letting the people of Fish Island make some noise.
