The program Dialysis Is Not Your Life (DINYL) was birthed from his book to build a community for those living with kidney disease, dialysis, and kidney transplants. The program is designed to increase kidney disease awareness, bridge the gap between the patient and nephrologist, and to reveal the power each patient has within themselves to redefine their lives to live a more quality level of life.
In 2000, he was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease (PKD). In 2012 he was placed on dialysis and in 2015 he received his kidney transplant. Since then, he has received his Dialysis Technician Certificate of Completion and Personal Trainer Level 2 Certification. He developed a low to moderate exercise program for people with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), Renal Replacement Therapy (RRT), and Kidney Transplant Patients to experience better health. www.betterhealth fitness.org

Edward Drake II is the founder of the YNOTT? Foundation (Youth Needing Organ & Tissue Transplants). The YNOTT? Foundation is a 501c3 non profit organization dedicated to providing support to pediatric transplant patients, increasing awareness about the need for organ and tissue donation, and promoting health prevention and wellness in the community. YNOTT? was founded September 6th, 2007. The vision for the foundation came to him just before his twenty first birthday. When during a routine physical, he was diagnosed with end stage Renal Disease (Kidney Failure). After a while he found his self adjusting to a life on dialysis. He often questioned “Why me? Why now?” Then he realized, “Why not me?” Why not apply his experiences to offer hope and to help others fight organ failure? His passion to help youth like his self at that time inspired him to form the YNOTT? Foundation. YNOTT? has provided support to thousands of transplant patients nationwide, been featured in numerous media spotlights, and received a number of awards and honors for their services in the community. They educate pediatric transplant patients on the importance of staying compliant both pre and post transplant and help to improve their transition to adult care. In addition, They also host health awareness events in the community to help prevent future diagnosis by educating people on healthy lifestyle choices and other preventive measures. Their organization has set high goals for the present and future. As a foundation, they desire to reach more transplant patients and increase our overall presence within the communities we serve. To do this, they are implementing new support groups and outreach programs aimed at addressing critical issues facing youth transplant candidates such as coping with a difficult diagnosis, education, and social problems. They also plan to target more schools, colleges, churches, and workplaces to increase overall health awareness. The YNOTT? Foundation is very honored to be in the position to touch many lives and make a difference in the community. The YNOTT? Foundation stands strong with God as it’s rock, foundation, and cornerstone.

An avid bodybuilder and personal trainer, Tifiro balanced the need to keep his body healthy through good nutrition and dialysis, with his desire to keep his mind healthy as well through his commitment to fitness and training his clients. Starting his days at 4 a.m., Tifiro spent 12 hours in the gym each day, returning home every 4 hours to perform the peritoneal dialysis exchange he needed to survive. .
One journey… Returning to his hometown of Columbus, Ohio far from the sunny football practice fields he so enjoyed in California Tifiro underwent treatment and a kidney transplant. Trish Phillips Living Kidney Donor & Multicultural Miracle Donor Foundation
Executive Director/CEO Trish Phillips became a Living Kidney Donor after witnessing her best friend’s two year battle with kidney disease and dependency on dialysis treatment.
Since her donation on December 15, 2016, at Tampa General Hospital, Trish passionately informs and educates others that it is possible to live a healthy lifestyle with just one kidney. She encourages others to sign up as living and deceased organ donors, thereby becoming someone else’s miracle. On December 15, 2021, five years ago to the day of her life saving decision, Trish created a life transforming organization, Multicultural Miracle Donor Foundation (MMDF). Her crusade is to educate, inform, assist and empower support for multicultural living donors and the families of deceased organ donors. Currently the General Manager of an AM Radio Station, Trish has a degree in broadcasting with a robust network to get her message out to a large audience. She started a weekly Kidney Awareness radio show, volunteers with Donate Life’s foundations, LifeLink Florida, and Life Alliance. Trish is a past top fundraiser for the National Kidney Foundation Walk, a current Ambassador for “Howl the Owl on the Prowl, and “Worldwide Kidney Donors” banner Ambassador.

Growing up, she watched her mom struggle with dialysis. She went for treatments three times a week. Dialysis caused her mom to be labeled as disabled. Kidney disease almost took her mom ' s life. Along with dialysis came hospital stays due to infections, blood transfusions, and one time, she flatlined due to complications from shunt surgery. In 1997 after her transplant, she received life again. Organ donation saved her mom ' s life. Because of organ donation, her mom was able to reenter the workforce and plans to retire soon.

As heartbreaking as can be when we learned that Lucas was not going to wake up from his coma, we also knew that Lucas would want to help those he loved and see that they have a second chance of living a normal and healthy life. It was the right thing to do to donate his kidneys and liver to those in need of kidney and liver transplants, including his cousin, Sara. Going through the grief of losing a young child and feeling the heavy weight on our chests of having to bury him before we were even ready to, it was comforting for us that Lucas left a legacy in our lives through his organ donation.
Lucas Calvert Deceased Donor Written by Brian Calvert(Dad)
Like all parents would say about their children, Lucas was the pride and joy of our family. He was a happy and strong boy, bringing a lot of smiles to everyone around him. He enjoyed playing with Hot Wheels, Monster Jam, trucks, construction vehicles, and watching YouTube videos. He doted on his little sister, Olivia, who was always excited to see him come home from school. Besides nursery rhymes and children's songs, Lucas' favorite adult songs were "Stressed Out" and "Ride" by twenty one pilots and "Sunday Morning" by No Doubt. When the "Stressed Out" chorus came on, he would sing "Wake up you need to make money " . Lucas loved to stay in hotels and traveled to several cities for various events. He went to San Diego to see the Blue Angels, Hawaii so his parents and aunt and uncle could enjoy some luau, and Salt Lake City for the US Transplant Games. His favorite hotel was "New York, New York, New York" as he called it in Las Vegas. When he did not want to leave the hotel, we had to tell him we were going to "Hotel Calvert". It worked in the beginning, but as he started to understand more, the trick did not work anymore. With so many trucks to play with and videos to watch, Lucas always refused to go to bed early. But when he was ready to be tucked in, he loved when his mom would tell him silly, made up stories that always started with "Once upon a time...".
