ASEBP employer engagements

The Alberta School Employee Benefit Plan (ASEBP) communicates with employers throughout the year to share important information, gather feedback, and provide day-to-day support , training, workplace wellness support, and resources to assist with benefit administration for employees.

August – September: Beginning of the school year

In August , ASEBP connects with employers to provide benefit administration updates, assist with benefit plan enrollments, and share resources to support preparations for the school year.

October – December: Fall meetings and biennial client survey

In October and November, ASEBP holds in-person and virtual meetings with employers to provide information about upcoming plan design changes, share updates from the organization, educate on new self-serve reporting features, collect feedback, and learn what employers need to support their staff for the school year.

As part of ASEBP’s Client Satisfaction Program, a biennial survey is sent to all employers in November to gather insights on benefit delivery, communication preferences, and satisfaction levels across their interactions with ASEBP’s various departments.

March – April: Premium renewal packages and presentation

Following the March ASEBP Trustees meeting, employers receive premium renewal packages outlining premium rates for the upcoming year. These packages help employers understand the factors influencing premiums, how they are set, and ASEBP’s cost containment strategies.

In April, ASEBP’s Chief Innovation and Finance Officer presents a detailed overview of premium rate setting. This transparency strengthens relationships with employers and reinforces ASEBP’s commitment to long-term plan sustainability.

April – June: Spring renewal meetings

Throughout April and May, ASEBP meets with employers to discuss the premium renewal packages and other key topics.
