CONFERENCE INFORMATION The Northeast Region of the Association of State Dam Safety Officials invites you to attend the 2018 Northeast Regional Conference, June 4-6, at the Lancaster County Convention Center in Lancaster, PA. The conference program will focus on issues of importance to dam owners, government officials and engineers in the northeast states. Both general and concurrent technical sessions, as well as timely panel discussions, an informative exhibit show, and networking opportunities with colleagues from across the region highlight this event.
Lancaster and the Lancaster County Convention Center: The City of Lancaster is set in the heart of the Amish countryside. The downtown area is packed with art, museums, historical attractions, restaurants, theaters, and boutiques all in a walkable setting. A great deal of the of the city’s charm stems from the stories, architecture, and traditions rooted in history. Getting to and around Lancaster is easy! Area airports include the Harrisburg International Airport (MDT - 27 miles) the Philadelphia International Airport (PHL - 71 miles), and the Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI - 90 miles). Lancaster is also centrally located within manageable driving distance of five large northeast cities. Major roadways passing through or around Lancaster County include US-30, US-222, PA-283 and PA-72. In addition, Lancaster provides an Amtrak Terminal which is a short 6 minute cab ride from the hotel. Professional Development Hours: In recognition of the fact that an increasing number of professional engineering licensing bodies are requiring members to pursue professional development on a formal basis, ASDSO provides a signed attendance form to each registered attendee, on which you can record the number of hours you spent in sessions. Combined with a copy of the conference agenda, this form will help you keep track of your professional development hours (PDHs) for 2018. The PDH form will be found in the program booklet distributed at the conference.
