Here’s what ASC does to keep members informed: • I ssues Briefs – Every year, the Regulatory Affairs Committee helps focus the Council on the issues and challenges directly impacting our industry. This Brief gives you a detailed and nuanced overview of the key issues facing our sector. Members use this document to inform management and leadership in order to resource properly.

•C onvention Programming – Every Convention features tracks dedicated to issues facing our industry. Attendees have the opportunity to hear directly from agencies such as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, California Department of Toxic Substance Control, or the South Coast Air Quality Management District on their latest proposals.

•R egulatory Alerts—Changes to issues come quickly and ASC is committed to alerting you to any changes we are aware of within 24 hours of becoming notified. Team members should sign up for the alerts so they can move issues up the chain of command quickly.

• Regulatory Update Webinars – Twice a year ASC offers webinars providing the latest information on critical regulatory issues while allowing members the opportunity to ask questions related to the significance for their particular operation.

• ASC Twitter and Linkin Alerts – These quick updates provide information on late breaking news about upcoming congressional committee hearings, agency workshops, and recently issued documents related to regulatory and legislative proposals.

Knowing about what may impact our industry is only half the battle. Here’s what ASC does to help its members Take Action: • Regulatory Affairs Committee – ASC members’ environmental, health and safety personnel participate in phone conferences and meetings throughout the year reviewing issues and jointly developing industry positions for ASC articulation.

These leaders ensure our team is aware on the impact of any proposals in order for us to be effective advocates.

• Action Center – Sometimes alerting a member isn’t enough – we need members to respond to some alerts with letters or emails, and the Action Center is where this happens.

Put into action in 2013, the Action Center allows members to respond to issues directly to legislators and regulators, often using ASC drafted letters and message points. It’s a free, streamlined program to ensure our voice is heard on the Hill.

• Rapid Response Team – We have asked all ASC members to identify a person, or persons, who will serve as a Rapid Response Team member and react when the Council issues an Action Center notification. To date, XXX members are part of this grassroots outreach team.

• ASC Washington, D.C. Fly-In – Partnering with the National Association of Manufacturers, ASC sponsors a two-day event that allows members to learn about legislative and regulatory initiatives and meet with federal regulators and elected officials. It’s a simple, cost effective way to ensure ASC industry issues are shared by Members to Members (of Congress).

• Adhesive and Sealant Industry Impact Tool Kit – The Council will be developing an informational document highlighting the size, scope, employment base, job salary average, manufacturing focus and broad value impact of the industry. The information will serve as a communications tool when communicating with elected officials, regulators, media and other associations.
