PEER RECOVERY EDUCATION PROGRAM The Alliance Peer Recovery Education Program (PREP) is a capacitybuilding skills training program that harnesses the power of Peer mentoring to help others initiate and maintain healthy behaviors. PREP empowers participants to sustain long-term recovery as well as to develop a marketable skill set. Upon graduation, Alliance annually supports paid internships for over 100 Peer Educators who become community role models, and provide prevention education and connection to care services in communities across New York City.
ABOUT ALLIANCE Alliance for Positive Change transforms lives of New Yorkers living with HIV/AIDS and other chronic illnesses so they can feel better, live better, and do better. We help people access medical care, manage and overcome addiction, escape homelessness, get back to work, and find community. By addressing the underlying issues that contribute to poor health, Alliance’s individualized, full-service approach and harm reduction philosophy help New Yorkers lead healthier, more selfsufficient lives. All Alliance services are free, confidential, and offered in English, Spanish & French/Haitian Creole at our six community centers in Herald Square, East Harlem, East Village, Lower East Side, the Bronx, and Washington Heights.
