Live Missionally. Engage globally. Asbury Theological Seminary’s E. Stanley Jones School of World Missions introduces a Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies with a Specialization in Church Planting degree in fall 2014. Get equipped to reach diverse people groups without leaving your ministry. Complete the degree with online classes and four short campus visits over three years. Relevant assignments integrate into the life of your current ministry.

Contextual learning. Integrated, holistic treatment of Church Planting draws upon fields of theology, history, sociology, ethics, anthropology, leadership, and missiology. Assignments are specially crafted for the student’s present ministry context.

Highly relational. All classes will be taken on-campus or online with the same group of church planters, creating a rich network of ministry partners. Predictable sequencing. The entire sequence of online and on-campus courses is mapped out, allowing you to plan for four short (1-2 week) trips to campus over three years. Generous scholarships. All in-ministry participants will receive a $4,500 scholarship annually as funds are available. Additional financial aid may apply.

Learning Environments: YEAR ONE Fall: Kentucky Campus – One Week in October Orientation MS501 Missional Formation: The Church in A Global Era MS634 21st Century Church Planting January: MS798 Practicum within current ministry context

Campus visits. One or two week campus visits to Wilmore, Kentucky or Orlando, Florida. Assignments and reading for on campus courses will be due before, during and after the campus visit. Online. Web-based classes utilize Asbury’s cutting edge ExL environment. Interact through video lectures and group discussions in the midst of your ministry context. Practicums. Hands-on learning in your current ministry context. Practicums in varied contexts are also available if desired.
