War Can’t Silence the Voice of Truth

Over the past year, ASAP’s local missionaries in Myanmar have faced trials unlike any they have encountered before. Violent conflict between the military and local armed groups shook some regions, isolating them from the outside world. Roads were blocked, communication collapsed, and everyday survival became a challenge. Prices soared. Landmines littered the mountains, making farming and foraging life-threatening. Some villagers were injured, but by God’s mercy, our church members have remained unharmed.

Despite the danger, church planters and medical missionaries have faithfully continued to share the gospel. One of our church planters shared, “Through it all, God’s hand never left us. Food was scarce but sufficient, and His mission carried on. Against all odds, the church grew, and over the past two years, I’ve had the joy of preparing many hearts for Jesus. Among them is Htin Aung,* a former Baptist

who had never heard of Seventh-day Adventists. As we shared our stories and studied God’s Word together, he and his wife came to embrace the truth of Scripture. Though they faced rejection, their faith never wavered. Today, I lead 18-20 active students in Bible study. Each Sabbath, 40 of us gather—strong, united, and full of hope!”

Thank you for your faithful prayers and donations, which are lighting up one of the darkest corners of the world. Because of you, the gospel continues to flourish—even here.

Missions Change Everything!

When the village chief who had once persecuted the Adventists in his village stepped into our medical clinic, in the Adventist Village where they now lived, it marked more than a medical visit. We could see that God was working in his heart to bring reconciliation! Once a fierce opponent of Christianity, he had driven Seventhday Adventist church members from his village. Now, he came seeking medical care from our team in the village of the very people he had once persecuted.

Recently, ASAP Ministries led a life-changing medical mission trip to a restricted country, where we provided medical services to more than 1,200 people. A team of 15 overseas volunteers assisted with medical screenings, massage, dental services, health education, and vision support.

Joy and gratitude filled the air as local believers, mission leaders, and government officials gathered to dedicate a new Seventh-day Adventist church in Rovieng, Cambodia. The event marked the

Of course, mission trips like this are not just about physical healing. They are all about working with God to open doors through acts of service. We were thrilled to see God’s hand move in another village chief’s heart. He traveled three hours with 30 of his people to attend our health expo. Moved by what he witnessed, he invited future teams to return and share not only health knowledge but also more about Christianity.

culmination of years of prayer by church members and retired ASAP church planter Ping Sothy.

This spring, ASAP donors helped answer their prayers with the construction of a new church. Elder Hang Dara, president of Cambodia Adventist Mission, offered a special message during the dedication ceremony. He shared how the late Judy Aitken, founder of ASAP Ministries, had once visited the very ground where the church now stands. She spent the night at the site and prayed that God would one day raise up a church in Rovieng.

“Today, that prayer has been answered, thanks to the unwavering support and dedication of ASAP Ministries,” he said. “Let us continue to give thanks to God and use this church… to spread hope and the message of eternity throughout the community.”

The Rovieng Church stands as a testament to the power of persevering prayer and your generous support for missions. And for church members it represents an exciting new chapter in ministry to their unreached friends and neighbors.

God Answers Naw Say Doh’s Prayer

Let me tell you about a sweet 12-year-old girl named Naw Say Doh.*

She’s one of six children and the fourth in her family. After finishing 3rd grade, Naw Say Doh’s life took a heartbreaking turn. Her parents, struggling to make ends meet, decided she would no longer go to school. Instead, she was needed to work on the family farm.

Can you imagine being that young, full of curiosity and dreams, only to be told your education was over? Naw Say Doh was devastated. She cried often, but she didn’t lose hope. She remembered the prayers her teachers had taught her and whispered them every day, asking God to make a way for her to return to

Wasn’t

Mine

It Was God’s.

Hi, I’m Nathaniel, a 14-year-old finishing 8th grade at Village Adventist Elementary School. I want to share my story about how God encouraged me to get involved with missions.

It began when Pastor Ben from ASAP Ministries spoke at our school about the great needs in

school.

As the new school year approached, her teachers came to her home. They pleaded gently with her parents, reminding them of Say Doh’s love of learning and dreams for the future. Thanks to their persistence—and God’s mercy—her parents said yes. When the new school year started, Naw Say Doh was back in the classroom, her heart full of joy, her faith stronger than ever.

Thank you for your generous gifts, which make it possible for Naw Say Doh and thousands of children like her to stay in school and learn about a God who loves them and is willing to intervene in the most difficult situations.

Southeast Asia. One fact struck me deeply: just $30 per month allows a student to attend school. That idea stuck in my mind. Three weeks later, after doing odd jobs at home and helping at my mom’s work, I had earned more than I had expected. I placed the money on my dresser, planning to put it in my wallet—but then I noticed the ASAP missions savings bottle I had placed there after Pastor Ben’s talk.

I felt God nudging me, “You’ve been blessed.” I thought, “This isn’t mine; it’s God’s.” In that moment, I decided to give it all back to God. The temptation to keep some crept in, but God kept reminding me, “This is My money, not yours.” I told my mom I wanted to give to ASAP Ministries. When my mom saw the amount, she was surprised—and moved. She matched my donation, turning my “five loaves and two fish” into something far greater than I imagined.

This experience has changed me. I’ve learned He can use anyone, even a 14-year-old, to help build His kingdom.

You can make a difference too! Carry a few My Language, My Life cards and share them on errands.

Storming The Gates of Hell

Christianity has beaten on the gates of hell in Southeast Asia for hundreds of years, sadly with limited effect. Today, we see an improved impact, and I am convinced that is partly due to ASAP’s emphasis on prayer. Each one of us has a part—to pray.

I would love to see us all praying together, that God will pour out His Spirit in Southeast Asia and allow the gospel to advance and penetrate the darkness.

Across the closed countries where we serve, we are seeing many miracles of healing, which are opening opportunities for ASAP medical missionaries and church planters to share the gospel with

their communities. We praise God for being a living God, a prayeranswering God.

I appreciate this quote, “We should hold gatherings for prayer, asking the Lord to open the way for the truth to enter the strongholds where Satan has set up his throne, and dispel the shadow he has cast across the pathway of those who he is seeking to deceive and destroy.” – Prayer pg. 41.

ASAP Ministries has always placed a strong emphasis on prayer, but in the past year, we have initiated a global day of fasting and prayer each quarter. This hour-long prayer meeting is filled with stories and testimonies, and time

to join in prayer that God will open the minds of Buddhists to the gospel.

We would love for you to join us for our next prayer time on September 5, 2025, at 7 p.m. EST.

Let’s ask God to do something special in Southeast Asia to bring many souls into His marvelous light.
