Authentic spring 2014

An exploration of classic Fred Perry silhouettes, patterns and design details sees signature styles contemporised with graphic stories.

Twin tipping is key – the dimensions are worked into Breton stripes, blown up and printed onto ginghams; the twin colour combinations used as a base for knit patterns and pique prints. A selection of Oxford shirting offered in traditional summer shades of blue, pink and white is given an unexpected twist, withthe addition of tipped flat knit collars. A unique project with Drake’s of London brings a sartorial edge to heritage sportswear garments. Subtle evolutions in design combine to create a modern definition of classic.

Patterned belts, both reversible and adjustable are finished with subtle embossed Laurel Wreath branding. The print, with a photo finish effect adds detail to the wallet inner and in a bolder execution brings statement to the outer.

Working alongside Fred Perry to produce classic headwear pieces, this season’s bucket hat is lined with vintage inspired diamond print cotton poplin and finished with leather embossed Fred Perry badge. The wide brimmed style originally designed to protect wearers from the elements, has long been part of the British streetwear wardrobe; it gained notable popularity during the 1980s ‘Madchester’ rave scene.

Monochrome polka dots fade into geometric checkerboards, a stencilled desert rose distorts to look like leopard print, pastel coloured polka dots are toughened on unlikely black backgrounds.

Pleated print tennis skirts, twin tipped shirts and lightweight sports bombers sit alongside Peter Pan collar tops and button through pinafores. An oversized and showerproof cotton parka makes the perfect layering piece.
