duke’s asian students association collected reflections to help our communities process, heal, and breathe with one another after the murders of eight victims, including six asian women in acworth and atlanta, georgia on march 16, 2021, as well as the increase in violence against asian/americans in the united states. these events are frustrating and often we feel helpless, but we must also remember to ground ourselves in processing and defining this hurt to see where we can go from here. this zine’s reflections include ramblings, poetry, and visual art. this is a space for you to process (and scream) as you need. we believe in art and journaling as a form of healing and self-love, and we hope that this community collection of art allows us to heal but also to hope for a better and safer place. thank you to the individuals who have bravely and honestly shared their vulnerable art and writing with us.
