NOTES FROM A DREAMER LEARNING TO CARRY THE LINEAGE
As a younger man, I felt the weight of legacy more than the wonder of it I come from eight generations of jewelers and while I respected the history, part of me wanted to carve a path that was fully my own But legacy is a strange thing
You can push against it for years, but the legacy we inherit has a special kind of gravity that pulls you back.
When I started ArunAshi, I didn’t do it solely to carry on my family’s tradition. It was a way to rebel against it by redefining what high jewelry can be But over time, it’s become clear to me that even rebellion is part of legacy It’s how we evolve, not erase
When I became a father, the meaning of legacy shifted again It’s no longer just about honoring the past or forging the future It’s about creating something worth passing on through craftsmanship, philosophy, and love
It’s not a burden But a gift
CONTEMPLATIONS OF THE
MONTH WRAPPING UP THE YEAR
The final weeks of the year always seem to arrive in a blur calendar full, suitcase half-packed, inbox overflowing But I’ve learned to greet that rush not with resistance, but with reverence When time feels like it’s moving too fast, I try to slow down and savor what it’s actually filled with: creative momentum, meaningful connections, and the quiet thrill of wrapping up one chapter as another waits just ahead.
So today I thought I’d share what I’m looking forward to during the last few work weeks of 2025:
Wrapping up the last of my busy-season travel, and getting to spend time with a few more very special clients, retailers, and vendors before the end of the year
Making progress on a few exciting special projects we’ve had in the works at the ArunAshi atelier that are still under wraps (but not for long).
Finding quiet moments to sketch and explore the creative concepts that have been calling to me.
Spending as much quality time with my boys and Ashita as I can as we make the mad dash to the holiday break

CELESTIAL AEGIS EARRINGS
SHIELD OF LIGHT
The Celestial Aegis Earrings draw on the ancient symbolism of divine protection and cosmic order In mythology, an “aegis” was the shield carried by Athena and Zeus IT WAS often adorned with stars or the head of Medusa, imbued with power to ward off harm and reflect inner strength. These earrings echo that legacy, transforming the concept of the shield into something luminous and elegant The baguette-cut diamonds recall the linear paths of ancient star charts and celestial diagrams, which mapped not just the sky, but human destiny
Throughout history, the heavens have served as both guide and guardian In Byzantine mosaics and Mughal manuscripts alike, stars and light were rendered as sacred geometry, symbols of eternity, divinity, and unseen forces shaping. These earrings reinterpret those motifs through modern craftsmanship, merging timeless ideals with contemporary form.
They do not merely adorn, they shield, illuminate, and remind the wearer of her place among the stars

Colombian Emerald
COLOMBIAN EMERALD
THE GREEN HEART OF THE EARTH
Colombian emeralds are among the most storied gemstones in the world, revered for their unparalleled color and rich cultural heritage Mined from the Andean ranges cloaked in cloud forest, these stones have been prized since the era of the Muisca people, who offered emeralds in ritual to the gods of fertility and abundance Spanish conquistadors later sought them with unrelenting desire, trading them across continents as symbols of power and divinity. The green of a Colombian emerald is not just pigment, it’s presence It holds the depth of jungle canopies, the pulse of rivers, and the ancient hush of mineral-rich earth
Arun chooses Colombian emeralds not for their status, but for their soul
Each one carries a narrative that feels both grounded and transcendent, formed by nature, yet destined for interpretation Their vibrancy is not perfection, but personality, alive with inclusions, “jardins,” that are embraced rather than erased
emeralds possess a tension that Arun finds magnetic: raw yet regal, ancient yet ever relevant In his hands, the stone becomes a dialogue between history and modernity, earth and imagination. A Colombian emerald doesn’t merely sit in a piece; it leads, it provokes, it anchors the wearer in something larger than adornment It’s not just color, it’s connection
ENIGMA KINTSUGI EMERALD COLOMBIA BANGLE
BEAUTY FORGED BY RESTORATION
ThE ENIGMA KINTSUGI EMERALD COLOMBIA
bangle draws from the ancient Japanese philosophy of Kintsugi, the art of repairing what is broken with gold, transforming flaw into feature. Rather than conceal damage, Kintsugi reveals it. honoring the history of a piece through its visible mending That concept finds a parallel here in a jagged seam of diamonds, evoking both rupture and resolution, a fracture made radiant
At the center, the Colombian emerald anchors the piece Historically prized by Mesoamerican cultures and later European royalty, emeralds have symbolized rebirth, insight, and truth Cleopatra wore them as divine protection; Mughal emperors engraved them with sacred texts. In this context, the emerald becomes a talisman of clarity rising from disruption
The bangle is a visual meditation on strength through vulnerability Drawing on art, myth, and philosophy, it becomes not just an object of beauty, but a quiet proclamation: that wholeness is not the absence of breaks, but the brilliance of having mended

Kite Diamond
KITE DIAMOND
PRECISION, POWER, POETRY OF FORM
Calculated, sharp, elegant The clean geometry of kite-shaped diamonds evokes an ancient mystique, an echo of daggers, shields, and celestial symbols Yet their form is distinctly modern: angular, architectural, and assertive Arun is drawn to the Kite Diamond not only for their rarity, but for their precision. Unlike traditional cuts that aim for symmetry and softness, kite diamonds challenge convention Their elongated points and sharp facets create negative space, drawing the eye in rather than merely reflecting light They don’t just sit on the body, they contour it, following the lines of a collarbone or the curve of a wrist with quiet intensity
To Arun, this shape mirrors his design philosophy: always intentional, unconventional, and rooted in contrast. And like all diamonds, kites carry a legacy of strength, derived from the Greek word adamas, meaning invincible Ranking a 10 on the Mohs Scale, they are the hardest natural substance on earth Just like his vision: exacting, enduring
KITE DIAMOND NECKLACE
A MYTHIC SYMBOL OF ASCENT
Arunashi’s Kite Diamond Necklace carries the weight of history and the spirit of imagination. The kite form, simple yet potent, has long appeared across cultures as a symbol of ascension, discovery, and freedom In ancient China, kites were flown not just for celebration, but to send messages to the heavens In Japan, they were once flown in battle, believed to bring fortune and courage. This piece channels that same upward motion, a poetic expression of human yearning to rise beyond the visible world
The necklace’s central diamond, shaped like a kite, recalls the form of a medieval shield, an emblem of bravery and allegiance In Arthurian legend, shields were more than armor; they bore stories, crests, destinies So too does this necklace an object of protection, aspiration, and selfdefinition.
Diamonds, formed under eons of pressure, mirror the quiet heroism of those who carry ambition with grace. To wear this is not just to adorn oneself, but to participate in an ancient artistic lineage, where jewelry is not accessory, but symbol Like a Renaissance painting or a sacred relic, this piece speaks across time: of strength, of ascent, and of the endless human desire to reach for what lies just beyond.
