Welcome to the Arts Fundraising & Philanthropy Programme. The Arts Fundraising and Philanthropy Programme came into existence in 2013 as a result of a Catalyst grant from Arts Council England and as part of their ‘Transforming Arts Fundraising’ programme. Our aim is to improve the perceptions of the arts as a charitable cause and enhance fundraising practice, encouraging leadership and entrepreneurialism. Working with trustees, leaders, senior managers and emerging talent, our ambition is that the programme will inspire, train and develop people at all levels, helping to achieve a networked, skilled and resilient arts workforce. Read Michelle Wright’s article ‘Competing for Talent’ on the Arts Professional website via artsfundraising.org.uk/ arts-professional-partnership/

Our training and events programme for 2014–15 offers a wide range of opportunities for people working in the arts at all stages of their career, across different kinds of organisations. I’m confident that all of these opportunities will help arts professionals and organisations to achieve their fundraising goals, and I hope that you will find something that is relevant for you and for your team. Helping you build your arts fundraising career

Arts Fundraising & Philanthropy has been working with the Arts Marketing Association to create an online professional development plan called Culture-Pro. Culture-Pro is is a unique tool for arts fundraisers. It is a self-assessment tool to help you to build a tailored professional development plan. Culture-Pro highlights your strengths, achievements and training needs, and automatically suggests free online resources to help you develop your skills and knowledge. Culture-Pro is underpinned by a set of National Occupational Standards for Arts Fundraising, and all our fundraising training has been aligned to match the skills highlighted in this toolkit.

Find out more and access Culture-Pro for arts fundraisers at a-m-a.co.uk/culturepro

ABOUT THE NATIONAL OCCUPATIONAL STANDARDS The National Occupational Standards set out the skills that staff and volunteers who are responsible for raising funds for their organisation should have, as well as what they should know and understand in order to do their job well. The fundraising standards have been structured to make it easy for users to identify standards that may be relevant to their role.
