To prepare you for dance auditions at undergraduate level.

What will I be expected to achieve?

Class content will be tailored to the needs of the group and may include: • what will be expected of you at dance auditions • how to perform a range of dances in a variety of styles with confidence and competence • how to develop an individual warm up routine for use at auditions

How will I learn?

You will take part in a sequence of workshop classes focusing on the techniques demanded for dance auditions at undergraduate level.

Aim

To enable you to select, research and perform appropriate monologues for BA auditions.

What will I be expected to achieve?

You will be expected to demonstrate your ability to: Knowledge and understanding • Understand what is required for an acting audition at BA level • Broaden your knowledge of contemporary and classical texts Skills • prepare appropriately for an acting audition at BA level • perform with confidence in front of a panel • perform truthfully and maintain character throughout a monologue • release character as intended by the playwright • respond creatively and positively to direction • engage the listener and communicate character and narrative Values and attitudes • demonstrate the focus, discipline and self-belief required for successful auditions
