An exemplary model for the art capital is the inaugural AArtists in residence program, which is supported by the Federal Foreign Office in association with lvbg. We are thrilled to be exhibiting works from the program’s first candidates, Kerstin HONEIT, Andréas LANG and Ahmed KAMEL as part of the BERLIN LOUNGE. The AArtists in residence program is the first in-house residency to be offered by a German ministry. The residency is awarded to artists with overseas origins, or those whose works explore foreign cultures. Artists are selected via an independent jury of professionals and the aims of the program are to encourage international cultural co-productions. A BERLIN LOUNGE, a Berlini Galériák Egyesülete (lvbg) által szervezett ART FROM BERLIN program keretében létrejövő, berlini galériákat bemutató kiállítási blokk része, amely Berlin városának kortárs galériáiról, intézményeiről és múzeumairól nyújt tájékoztatást a látogatóknak. Példaértékű a művészeti főváros életében a Németország Külügyminisztériuma és az lvbg együttműködése nyomán létrejött AArtists in residency rezidenciaprogram, amely kapcsán a BERLIN LOUNGE nagy örömmel állítja ki és mutatja be a rezidenciaprogram első jelöltjei, Kerstin HONEIT, Andréas LANG és Ahmed KAMEL munkáit. Az AArtists in residency az első olyan rezidenciaprogram, amelyet egy minisztérium hívott életre. A program nyertesei elsősorban a tengerentúlról származó művészek, vagy olyanok, akik munkái idegen kultúrákkal foglalkoznak. A nyertes művészeket független szakértőkből álló zsűri választja ki, a program célja a nemzetközi kulturális együttműködések előmozdítása.
