Podiatry BSc (Hons)
Podiatrists are healthcare professionals who specialise in the foot, ankle and leg, leading patient care through the whole journey including prevention, diagnosis and treatment, with the aim of improving mobility, independence and quality of life for patients.
Our professionally accredited degree offers a counterbalance between theory and practice that embeds technology and a range of creative learning and teaching approaches. We continue to invest in our dedicated facilities to reflect modern technological approaches. To create a variety of learning modes and environments we integrate interdisciplinary working and learning community; incorporating Virtual Reality and Simulation.

The experiences you gain throughout the degree will enable you to be adaptable professionals within the sector. You will gain experiences with different sectors for health care and will also have opportunities to explore your own interests through national and internal placements at our onsite clinic. All these experiences will prepare you to become a modern-day podiatrist within the NHS or the private sector.
Tuition Fees for 2024 entry are fully paid by an NHS bursary

We have external placements across the NHS University Health Boards within Wales, as well as opportunities to visit private practice’s that focus on sports injuries and musculoskeletal conditions. We host NHS clinics in which a range of NHS patients are treated by our podiatry students under the supervision of NHS podiatrists. To further explore your own interests, external placements occur in all three levels of the programme. At the end of year three, you will have the opportunity to do a further placement where some of our previous students have decided to travel to Singapore, Holland, New Zealand, England or stay within Wales – experiencing podiatry at another University Health Board. During these placements, our previous students have experienced observations of podiatric surgery and have also been involved in research projects at other higher education institutions.
