Professionally approved by the Health and Care Professions Council and British Dietetic Association, this degree contains two major elements – the academic component based on campus and NHS training.
Both elements are essential for the achievement of the course objectives and award of the degree with eligibility to apply to the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) for registration as a Dietitian.
The course requires completing and passing three NHS placements:
• Placement one: for 6 weeks during year two (May - June)
• Placement two: for 8 weeks at the start of year three (September - October)
• Placement three: for 14 weeks during year three (January - April)
All placements require students to show competencies in specific dietetic skills. Placements two and three have level six assessed elements that contribute to the final degree classification.
Throughout your studies you will have access to the state-of-the-art facilities on campus located within the Food Industry Centre.
