Broaden your horizons beyond the traditional legal professions.

This degree is recognised by the Institute of Legal Secretaries and PAs (ILSPA) and will enable you to develop a customisable skill set depending on your personal goals and career aspirations.

We aim to create an open, supportive, and intellectually stimulating environment which will enable you to investigate the interrelation of law and business. You will put legal theory to practice in our purpose-built mock courtroom and develop your knowledge and employability in the fields of business and management.

You will have the option to gain valuable real-world experience by undertaking a sandwich year in industry and you will benefit from our links with industry through guest lectures by legal experts.

Typical modules

Our modules are designed in line with the needs of industry, to give you a sound grounding in business and law and enhance your personal development.

• Our 'In-house Law' module, which is unique in the UK, provides the opportunity to examine the role of the 'General Counsel', the individual who is simultaneously a part of the business and an officer of the court.

• You’ll also have the option in your final year of study to take part in the ‘Amicus Curiae Brief Project’ setting out legal arguments and recommendations in a current Human Right’s case which could be submitted after assessment.

Your future

• We hope to broaden your horizons beyond the traditional professions of solicitors and barristers to embrace other legal professional roles, such as Paralegal, Legal Secretary, Conveyancing Technician, Licensed Conveyancer, and Probate Practitioner.

• Progression to specialist postgraduate programmes at the University are also available.
