Fashion Buying & Brand Management – BA (Hons)

If you dream of a building a career within the buying, trend forecasting, merchandising and brand management functions of the dynamic fashion industry this degree could be your perfect fit. You will develop your knowledge and skills with an emphasis on the professional management of brands and product at all levels, from value fashion, independent labels, sustainable brands, international luxury brands, along with research opportunities for the creation of brands in a global fashion marketplace. As creativity is a highly valued attribute in the fashion industry, assignments are designed to develop your ideas, encourage risk taking and support you in creating memorable branding materials and plans.

Fashion Marketing Management – BA (Hons)

A unique blend of fashion, marketing and management for individuals who want to pursue a career in the vibrant global fashion industry. You will explore the diverse subject of fashion marketing focusing on consumer behaviour, developing creative marketing campaigns and international marketing for global brands.

Our Fashion Marketing Management degree has been awarded the CIM ‘Accredited Degree’ status – this accreditation provides you with an opportunity to gain exemption from both the CIM Certificate in Professional Marketing and Diploma in Professional Marketing Qualifications.

All Fashion management students will follow a common first year where you will be introduced to fashion marketing, as well as study the areas of fashion visualisation, principles of fashion studies and digital media for marketers. To ensure you gain hands-on practical experience, you will also be supported to find a relevant fashion related work placement in year two gaining valuable experience and networking opportunities in industry. You will also have the option of spending a year in industry between your second and third years. Past placements have included The Very Group, Boohoo and Michael Kors (Shanghai).

Typical modules

All Fashion management students will follow a common first year where you will be introduced to fashion marketing, as well as study the areas of fashion visualisation, principles of fashion studies and digital media for marketers. During years two and your final year you will specialise in your chosen specialism with a variety of optional modules. Examples of core modules include:

Your future

• On successful completion of the our degree in Fashion Marketing Management you will have the skills to gain a position in fashion marketing, putting your skills to use in positions in advertising, PR, buying and merchandising, digital marketing and e-commerce, fashion writing, marketing and consumer research, sales and brand development, product management, user experience design, public relations, and business management.

• Our degree in Fashion Buying & Brand Management will develop your knowledge and experience setting you up for a successful career in buying, merchandising, sourcing, product development, trend research, product management, marketing, brand development and management and more.

• Recent graduates have gone on to work in fashion marketing and management roles at brands such as Dior, River Island, Victoria’s Secret and EDITED (Retail Intelligence).
