EXEAT
from Issue 1 2023
Our Year 7’s recently enjoyed their EXEAT week experience. At Anglesea, the cohort enjoyed being together at various activities such as surfing, body boarding, sand sculpting and ropes courses. They were also involved in linking with local groups such as the Lighthouse Volunteers and enjoyed hearing about the lighthouse’s build, purpose and current state. One group was led by our retired Head of Middle School, Mrs Ros Shipp, who volunteered her time.
Planning for our Years 9 to 12 EXEAT program is well in hand. Our Senior School staff, led by our Director of Experiential Learning, Ms Stevens, have an exciting array of opportunities ahead. We look forward to bringing you details of these adventures in our end-of-term Braemar Buzz.
Our College’s infrastructure continues to develop. Across both campuses, work progressed during the holiday break on the Mt Campus, with the modernisation of classrooms, including better managing the environment with double-glazed windows added where possible. As you enter the Mt Macedon Campus, Tyler Hall, the first building you see, has been repainted. Our iconic Braemar House also received the loving care and attention of our painting contractors, who repainted much of the building’s exterior.
The Multi-Purpose Hall (MPH) has progressed significantly on our Woodend Campus. The steel superstructure nears completion, the hall floor has been laid, and the large timber feature beams are in place. Our Parents and Friends will launch the Solar Panel drive in the coming weeks, which will see the MPH fitted with an 11.5 kW PV solar system. We would love you to participate in that fundraiser and donate to this worthy cause. Look out on socials and in SEQTA for more details.
