Minneapolis’s first micro-distillery uses the best local ingredients to create small, hand-crafted batches of exceptionally fine spirits with the hopes of inspiring legendary cheer in those who drink them. Norseman owner and head distiller Scott Ervin oversees the production of each and every batch of gin, rum, vodka and whiskey from start to finish. Through countless tests and trials, he and his two trusty boozehounds, Max and Rocket, have perfected the recipes and process. We’ll toast to that.
Born in 1999, Anodyne Coffee Roasting Company has stayed true to small-batch production in its devotion to serving an exceptional cup of joe. Shop the roasts from across the world — made possible through partnerships with cooperatives in such places as Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Guatemala and Honduras — or visit one of Anodyne’s distinct local cafes, hubs of neighborhood activity.
Norseman Distillery vodka, $24.99
Anodyne Coffee Roasting Company coffee, $12.95 to $20.95
Herb and Kathy Eckhouse started La Quercia in 2005 to create premium American prosciutto. Their appreciation of cured meats grew out of a three-and-a-half-year stint in Parma, Italy, watching how the careful treatment of fine ingredients resulted in the finest regional cuisine. Employing that method using the bounty of the Midwest, La Quercia offers a collection of award-wining salumi (artisan-cured Italian meats), including prosciutto, pancetta, coppa, speck, lonza, guanciale and lardo. La Quercia Americano prosciutto, $10.99
