Summary

The contrast between old and new is an exemplification of timeless beauty, a dichotomous relationship seen throughout various modalities of existence, ranging from architecture to the stages of life itself. This project aims to bring people of all ages together; to help coalesce the fabric of generations; to actualize a community of happy and healthy seniors with their families and friends alongside them. The concept of this re-model is to represent the different stages of life. As users ascend the apartment’s 5 floors, they interact with spaces that are attuned to the interests of various ages and abilities. Each program and color represents a corresponding phase of life. This ensures that each stage of life is represented and nurtured, while simultaneously providing residents with the opportunity to descend through memories of their own.
