A BOLT OF LIGHTNING Based on the schedule posted outside the booth, I couldn’t figure out who was drawing such a crowd. Kal and I were there for the Lego video game. Knowing some booth appearances required a wristband, I decided not to fight for a shot. It was Shazam! Zachary Levi was at the table. Levi told ScreenRant.com this was his first real trip to NYCC, actually walking around and having a table in the autograph hall. To promote the movie, he seems to have been giving interviews everywhere to explain who Shazam is and how hard it is to physically prepare to become a character he already embodies. “You can’t take me seriously,” he told Screen Rant, but, as he told the SYFY crowd, “I have a heart of gold.” —MV
When Kal and I walked by after he finished playing Lego DC Super Villains, the booth was completely empty.
