Le célèbre cabriolet "Traction Avant" est apparu en 1934 et a été construit jusqu’à fin 1939. C’était une des premières réalisations de Jean Daninos sur la base de travaux de Cuinet. Si la Traction Avant fabriquée pendant plus de vingt ans est une légende en elle-même, le cabriolet, avec sa ligne mythique, symbolise le style de l’époque : un profil net, parfaitement équilibré entre le capot, l’habitacle et la partie arrière se terminant par une courbe gracieuse surmontée de la roue de secours et de son siège escamotable, le parebrise est rabattable et la capote disparait complètement sous le couvre capote. 3900 exemplaires sont sortis 76

des usines du Quai de Javel dont 671 type 11 BL. La voiture présentée a été habillée par Emile Tonneline, carrossier indépendant installé au 26 rue Louis Blanc à Courbevoie. Les éléments spécifiques de carrosserie, les quatre ailes, les portes et la calandre sont boulonnés et l’ensemble est tellement bien réalisé que l’on pourrait croire qu’il s’agit d’une carrosserie spéciale. Ces éléments étaient disponibles pour la 7, la 11 et la 15 avec une variante d’accessoires et d’enjoliveurs.
