หอศิลป์ มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร ได้เห็นความสำาคัญของพัฒนาการศิลปะ ร่วมสมัยไทยภายใต้โลกโลกาภิวัตน์ที่ตัวงานศิลปะและวิธีคิดอ่านของศิลปะ แปรเปลี่ยน ไหลเวียนและพัฒนาอยู่ตลอดเวลา จึงเป็นที่มาของโครงการ สนับสนุนศิลปินรุน่ ใหม่ exposed : up-and-coming artists ่ งุ่ สนับสนุนส่งเสริมศิลปินรุน่ ใหม่ทส่ี ร้างสรรค์ผลงานศิลปะ project ทีม อย่ า งต่อ เนื่อ ง และมีความคิดริเริ่ม ที่แ ปลกใหม่ที่แตกต่างไปจาก ขนบธรรมเนียมเดิมของประวัติศาสตร์ศิลปะร่วมสมัยไทย ซึ่งในครั้งนี้ จะเป็นโครงการระยะยาวที่มุ่งให้ศิลปินสร้างสรรค์ผลงานศิลปะอย่างอิสระ ไม่จำากัดขอบเขต โดยในรูปแบบโครงการนั้น หอศิลป์ได้ทำาการสรรหาและ คัดเลือกศิลปินรุ่นใหม่ที่สร้างสรรค์ผลงานศิลปะที่น่าสนใจจำานวน 6 คน ในนิทรรศการ “สองคนยลตามช่อง คนหนึ่งมองเห็นโคลนตม อี ก คนตาแหลมคม เห็น ดวงดาวอยู่พราวพราย” เป็นเสมือน นิทรรศการเปิดตัวโครงการดังกล่าว โดยหลังจากนิทรรศการนี้ สิน้ สุดลง ศิลปินทัง้ 6 จะทำางานร่วมกับหอศิลป์ผา่ นการจัดนิทรรศการ จำานวน 6 นิทรรศการภายในระยะเวลา 1 ปี ซึง่ ในแต่ละนิทรรศการนัน้ ศิลปินทั้ง 6 จะนำาเสนอโครงการแสดงผลงานนิทรรศการ โดยเลือกหา ศิลปินหน้าใหม่เพื่อแสดงผลงานคู่กับตนในห้องนิทรรศการ P1 P2 ตำาหนักพรรณราย ผ่านการสนับสนุนทุนสร้างสรรค์โดยหอศิลป์ การนำาเสนอโครงการดังกล่าวจะผ่านกระบวนการคัดกรองโดย ภัณฑารักษ์ ศิลปิน นักวิชาการ ที่เป็นที่ยอมรับในระดับนานาชาติ ในขณะทีเ่ รากำาลังอยูใ่ นกระแสธารของโลกโลกาภิวฒ ั น์น้ี ความเปลีย่ นแปลง ก็เกิดขึ้นตามเป็นเงาเช่นกัน และการแปรเปลี่ยนนี้ควรที่จะต้องได้รับ การสนับสนุนและผลักดันให้เป็นรูปธรรมมากยิ่งขึ้นเพื่อให้เกิดการ สร้างสรรค์ใหม่ๆ ในสายธารของการสร้างสรรค์แบบกระแสหลักที่ซึ่ง ต้องมีแม่น้ำาอีกสายไหลเวียนเคียงข้างกัน ดร.ปรมพร ศิริกุลชยานนท์ ผู้อำานวยการ หอศิลป์ มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร

The Art Centre, Silpakorn University has seen the importance of the development of Thai contemporary art under the globalized world where the works of art and perceptions of art change, flow, and develop continuously, resulting in the establishment of the project that aims to support and promote new generation artists who create art constantly and have new initializing ideas that differ from original conventions of the history of Thai contemporary art. The Art Centre has searched and chosen six new generation artists whose works are interestingly conceptualized and presented.

The exhibition “Two men look out through the same bars: one sees the mud, and one the stars� is like the debut exhibition of the project to introduce works of these selected artists to the audiences. Once this exhibition ends, these six artists will work with the Art Centre through organizing six exhibitions within a period of one year. These selected artists will present their individual project by searching for another newcoming artists to exhibit works together at P1 P2 Phannarai Building through creativity grants from the Art Centre. The presentation of the project will be supervised by internationally renowned curators, artists, as well as art academics.

While we are in the stream of this globalized world, a change occurs and comes along like shadows as well. This change should be supported and persuaded, to make it transform into a more tangible state for an occurrence of new creativities in the stream of mainstream creativities, where there must be another stream alongside.

ด้วยความผันผวนในความเชื่อทางสังคมที่เชื่อว่าความเท่าเทียมและ เสมอภาคนัน้ มีอยูจ่ ริง ทำาให้โครงสร้างสังคมไทยมีความแข็งแกร่งมากขึน้ จากแต่ก่อน ความผันผวนดังกล่าวเริ่มปรากฏให้เห็นเด่นชัดในราว ช่วงสิบปีที่ผ่านมา การแสดงออกในทุกๆด้านเริ่มไร้ขอบเขต ราวกับ การขยายตัวของกาแลคซี่เกิดใหม่ ทำาให้คนในสังคมมีสิทธิในการคิดอ่าน (แบบเงียบๆ) อย่างมีเสรีภาพ การมี “สิทธิ” ในสิ่งต่างๆมากขึ้น ย่อมมา พร้อมกับความคิดเห็นทีแ่ ตกต่างกันออกไปตามแต่ความเชือ่ มัน่ ในแต่ละคน คำาถามจึงเกิดขึ้นว่า สิ่งต่างๆเหล่านี้เป็นปัญหาหรือไม่ ปัญหาของความเห็นต่างย่อมเป็นสิง่ ทีค่ วบคูก่ บั สัตว์สงั คมทีอ่ ยูร่ วมกัน ตัง้ แต่ 2 หน่วยขึน้ ไป และยิง่ ในสังคมทีพ่ ดู จนติดปากว่าเป็นประชาธิปไตยแล้ว ความเห็นต่างย่อมเป็นสิง่ ขับเคลือ่ นให้เกิดการพัฒนาไปสูส่ ง่ิ ใหม่ ซึง่ สิง่ ใหม่น้ี อาจไม่ใช่สง่ิ ทีด่ ที ส่ี ดุ แต่ดกี ว่าเดิม ดีกว่าทีเ่ ป็นอยู่ การเรียนรูจ้ ากสิง่ เดิม จากความขัดแย้ง โดยให้โอกาส / พืน้ ทีแ่ สดงออก (อย่างประนีประนอม) และสังเคราะห์ความขัดแย้งที่เกิดขึ้นในสังคมนั้นจึงจำาเป็นอย่างยิ่ง เพื่อจะได้เห็นถึงช่องว่าง / รูรั่วของสังคมและสามารถก้าวไปสู่สิ่งใหม่ ในทางศิลปะก็เช่นกัน การแสดงออกทางศิลปะที่มีที่มาที่ไปมาจากการ เปลีย่ นแปลงสภาพสังคมเริม่ ปรากฏให้เห็นชัดขึน้ ในช่วง 10 ปีทผ่ี า่ นมา ศิลปะเริ่มพูดในเรื่องที่ไม่ได้มาจากจิตภายใน ไม่ว่าจะกลายเป็นการ แสดงออกถึงอำานาจ โครงสร้างทางสังคม ปัญหาที่เกิดขึ้น ศิลปะเริ่มเป็น สื่อที่ใช้พูดในเรื่องที่พูดไม่ได้ หากก็ยังเป็นเศษส่วนที่น้อยในวงการศิลปะ ร่วมสมัยไทยที่มีการแสดงออกแนวทางกระแสหลัก (ในเชิงปริมาณ) หากแต่การแสดงออกส่วนน้อยนีไ้ ด้สร้างแรงกระเพือ่ มของการเปลีย่ นแปลง ในประวัติศาสตร์ศิลปะร่วมสมัยของประเทศไทยไม่มากก็น้อย

การทีศ่ ลิ ปะเริม่ แสดงออกทางความคิดทีไ่ กลออกไปจากตัวเองมากขึน้ นัน้ ผู้ชมจึงมีภาระหน้าที่ที่จะต้องทำาความเข้าใจกับงานศิลปะอย่างเข้มข้น มากขึ้นกว่าแต่ก่อน ซึ่งจากเดิมทีที่ศิลปะเป็นเพียงบทละครหนึ่งที่ผู้ชม อ่านและซึมซับอย่างอิ่มเอิบโดยมิได้มีข้อโต้เถียงใดๆ แต่ศิลปะในขณะนี้ หรือที่กำาลังจะเกิดขึ้นต่อจากนี้ ผู้ชมล้วนเป็นสื่อหนึ่งในผลงานที่ทำาให้ เกิดบทสนทนา ข้อโต้เถียงกับสิ่งต่างๆ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นสภาพสังคม การเมือง อำานาจสถาบัน หรือแม้แต่ประวัติศาสตร์ชาติบ้านเมืองและ ประวัติศาสตร์ศิลปะ ข้อโต้เถียงต่างๆนี้เป็นกระบวนการของการทำาให้ ผลงานที่กำาลังจะบอกว่าเป็นศิลปะ “เป็นศิลปะ” ขึ้นด้วยสิ่งต่างๆ ทีอ่ ยูน่ อกเหนือตัวเอง ศิลปะจึงกลายเป็นเครือ่ งมือหนึง่ ทีเ่ ข้าไปทดลอง ตรวจสอบหรือแม้กระทั่ง สั่นคลอนสิ่งที่ต่างๆให้เกิดการเปลี่ยนแปลง สู่สิ่งใหม่ ทั้งนี้หากจะทำาให้ศิลปะสามารถส่งต่อก้อนความคิดอย่างเป็น ประชาธิปไตยได้นั้น สิ่งที่สำาคัญที่สุดคือ “ผู้ชม” ผู้ชมคือตัวผันแปร ที่สำาคัญที่จะให้งานศิลปะชิ้นนั้นๆ ไปต่อสู่เป้าหมายที่แท้จริง ฉะนั้นแล้ว เจตจำานงของศิลปะจะสำาแดงผลออกมาได้ก็ต่อเมื่อ งานศิลปะนัน้ ๆมอบเสรีภาพต่อผูช้ ม ผูช้ มต้องมีชอ่ งทางออกให้คดิ อ่าน ผู้ชมต้องมีอิสระที่จะเลือกมองทางใดทางหนึ่ง และในนิทรรศการนี้ จึงเป็นเสมือนการมองหาช่องทางของเสรีภาพ ในการแสดงออกทางศิลปะและการคิดอ่านของผู้ชม ผ่าน “ช่อง” ทางให้ เราเข้าไปสู่ความหมายเนื้อแท้จริงของสิ่งต่างๆรอบตัวไม่ว่าจะเป็นบริบท ทางสังคม การเมือง อำานาจ รวมถึงศิลปะอย่างเสรีโดยที่มิได้เข้าไป ทำาลายความเชื่อหรือสิทธิที่จะเชื่อของใครๆ ชื่อนิทรรศการ “สองคนยลตามช่อง คนหนึ่งมองเห็นโคลนตม อีกคนตาแหลมคม เห็นดวงดาวอยู่พราวพราย” ต้องการจะสื่อสารกับ สังคมว่า ในทุกๆคน ทุกๆอาชีพ ทุกๆหน้าที่ ควรมีสิทธิที่จะเลือกมองไม่ว่า จะมองในมุมใด จะเห็นดวงดาวพร่างพรายหรือจะเห็นเพียงโคลนตม ก็ตาม สิ่งที่น่ายินดีคือการที่ยังมี “ช่อง” ให้เรามอง หากเราอยู่ในสังคม ทีป่ ราศจาก “ช่อง” ให้มองแล้วเราก็จะไม่เห็นอะไรเลยนอกเสียจากตัวเองกับ กรอบความคิดทีแ่ บนราบ ไม่วา่ จะดาวพร่างพรายหรือโคลนตม ก็เป็นพื้นดิน ที่อยู่ต่างที่ต่างเวลาเท่าๆกัน

นิทรรศการในครั้งนี้คือการทดลองความเป็นไปได้ในการแสดงออก ทางศิลปะและการรับชมของผู้ชมว่ามีส่วนร่วมในการตัดสินใจตีความ ในความคิดอ่านทางศิลปะที่มีประเด็นให้จับต้องมากมาย งานศิลปะที่เกิด ขึ้นในครั้งนี้ มีความเกี่ยวโยงกับการนำาประเด็นต่างๆทางสังคมมาสนทนา กับผู้ชมอย่างเสรี โดยไม่สรุปให้ผู้ชมเดินตามความคิดนั้นๆ ศิลปะที่เกิดขึ้น ไม่ได้ต้องการจะเสนออะไรเป็นพิเศษ แต่กำาลังจะเป็นอะไรเสียมากกว่า เพราะในทุกๆสังคมทีบ่ อกตัวเองว่า (จะ) เป็นประชาธิปไตยนัน้ การแสดงออก ทางศิลปะก็ควรจะเป็นประชาธิปไตยด้วยเช่นกัน

นิทรรศการนี้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของ โครงการสนับสนุนศิลปินรุ่นใหม่ exposed : up-and-coming artists project ซึ่งนำาเสนอศิลปิน รุ่นใหม่ทั้ง 6 ที่ผ่านการคัดสรรในโครงการมาแสดงผลงาน โดยศิลปินทัง้ 6 ล้วนมีการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานศิลปะที่น่าสนใจ ด้วยวิธีการ ความคิด และเรื่องราวที่นำามาเสนอออกสู่พื้นที่สาธารณะนั้นได้สร้างบทสนทนา กับสังคมและผูช้ ม ซึง่ ท้าทายพัฒนาการศิลปะร่วมสมัยของประเทศไทย อย่างน่าจับตา กฤษฎา ดุษฎีวนิช ภัณฑารักษ์

According to the change of social belief that brings people to a state of believing in the existence of equality and fairness, the Thai society has been stronger than before.

This change began to emerge and has been noticeable in approximately the past 10 years.

People’s expressions in all aspects began to hold no boundaries, like an expansion of a new galaxy, making the people in the society have their rights to ponder (quietly) freely.

This matter of having more “rights” in things certainly comes with various opinions along with each individual standpoint. Thus, there comes a question: “do these things aforesaid cause problems?”

Problems about different opinions certainly come along when more than two units of social individual live together, especially in a widely called democratic society, different opinions are thus motivators creating development that brings up new things. These new things might not be the best things, but they are better than current things. Therefore, learning from former things, from contradiction, by giving chances/expressing spaces (compromisingly) and synthesize the contradiction happening in the society is very necessary for being able to see social gaps/leaks and walk into new things.

Similar to art, artistic expressions reflected from the society began to emerge and has been noticeable in the past ten years. Art began to say about things outside the scope of inside mind, such as expressions of social powers, the social structure, or social problems. Art began to be media used to say about topics that cannot be said in other ways. Yet, this matter is still minor in Thai contemporary art scene where the works express in the mainstream way (quantitatively).

Nevertheless, the minor matter has created a wave of change in the history of contemporary art in Thailand more or less.

The way art began to express the ideas that are far from itself gives the audiences an obligation to understand the works more deeply than before. Initially, art was merely a play that the audiences read and feel joyfully without any argument, but art nowadays, or from now on, the audiences are a part of the works creating contradictory dialogues against things such as the state of society, the politics, the institutional powers, or even the history of the country and the history of art. These contradictions are a process that makes a work about to be called art “become art� by things outside 13

itself. Art, therefore, becomes a tool that identifies or even shakes things to create a change into new things.

Anyhow, to make art express democratically, what is most important are “the audiences.”

Audiences are a variable that make a work of art continue its way to the real goal.

Consequently, art can express its intention when that work of art gives freedom to the audiences. The audiences must have an exit to go out and ponder. They must have freedom to see either a way or another.

This exhibition is like a search of a way of freedom in artistic expression and pondering of the audiences through a “gap” that leads us to the real meanings of things around such as the social contexts, the politics, the powers, and also art freely without destroying beliefs or rights to believe of others.

The title, Two men look out through the same bars: one sees the mud, and one the stars, aims to communicate with the society that every person, in every occupation, and every duty should have a right to choose to see, no matter from what vision he/she would see, no matter if they would see the shining stars or merely the mud, what is pleasant is how there is still a “bar” for us to see through. If we lived in a society without a “bar,” we would not see anything except ourselves and a flat concept. No matter if one sees the stars or the mud, they are both places, in different positions and different times.

This exhibition is an experiment on a possibility of artistic expression and perceptions of the audiences, that how they are involved in deciding and interpreting art which has many points to see. The works happening this time are connected with bringing up various social issues to talk with the audiences freely without making the audiences follow any specific idea. These art works do not want to convey anything specifically, but rather to convey what would become here unspecifically. In every society telling itself that it is (becoming) democratic, the art expressions should also be democratic as well.

This exhibition is a part of a project supporting new generation artists, exposed : up-andcoming artists project, which presents six new generation artists who has been selected and brought to exhibit their works. These six artists create their art interestingly. Their methods, ideas, and stories presented to the public create dialogues with the society and the audiences, which eye-catchingly challenges the development of Thai contemporary art.

“Empty Every Night เริ่มจากข้อความบนถังขยะเปลี่ยนไปเป็น ข้อความบนป้ายโฆษณาบนร้าน Waffle Shop ที่เมืองพิตต์สเบิร์ก รัฐเพนซิลเวเนีย สหรัฐอเมริกา ด้วยความเป็นพื้นที่เฉพาะดังกล่าว ผมต้องการตั้งคำาถามกับหน้าที่ของป้ายโฆษณาในระบบเศรษฐกิจที่มี เงินเป็นตัวตัง้ ด้วยภาษาทีค่ ล้ายพุทธศาสนา ครัง้ นีใ้ นพืน้ ทีม่ หาวิทยาลัย ศิลปากร ผมอยากเสนอพื้นที่ให้คิดไตร่ตรองถึงขั้นตอนและสภาวะ (สถานะ) การเปลีย่ นแปลงของจิตระหว่าง ความปรารถนา การต่อต้าน เวลาพักผ่อนสันทนาการ และแรงงานที่เสียไปในพื้นที่ของสถาบัน ทีบ่ างทีไม่มคี นอยูต่ อนกลางคืน แต่ห่างไกลหรือใกล้กับความว่างเปล่า ของชีวิตและการสูญเสียในเวลาเดียวกัน” “Empty Every Night started off as a message found on a trashcan then to a one-week installation that sat on top of the Waffle Shop marquee lettered billboard in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. With prior specificity of site, I wanted to question the billboard’s advertising function in a capital based economy with Buddhist like language. At Silpakorn University, placed on the West side of the Art Centre in a courtyard, I wanted to suggest contemplative space of transformative stages of soul between longing, resistance, leisure, labor in an institution that is perhaps empty of lingerer every night but far from/or in close approximation to emptiness of life and lost at the same time.”

“จากบทความของ Ong “ในบทที่หนึ่ง Land of No More Hope” เป็นเรื่องที่ผู้อพยพระลึกถึงความทรงจำาของพุทธศาสนาในวัฒนธรรม กัมพูชาทีม่ รี ากฐานมาจากการทำาให้ผคู้ นอ่อนน้อมเชือ่ ฟังผ่านการจัดการ ทางเมืองและพิธกี รรม โดยทีท่ ง้ั สองอย่างนัน้ ผูกกับการทีพ่ ทุ ธศาสนา ในกัมพูชาให้ความสำาคัญกับความเมตตากรุณา ความเอื้ออารี และความสัมพันธ์ ทั้งนี้ระบอบ พล พต ทำาลายความศักดิ์สิทธิ์ของ ความหมายทัง้ หมดของสังคม รวมกระทัง่ ถึงความหมายของความสัมพันธ์ ในครอบครัวและความเป็นเพศสภาพ

ผมเริม่ คัดลอกหนังสือ Buddha is Hiding เพราะผมถือหนังสือเล่มนี้ เป็นแบบอย่าง (เพื่อทำาความเข้าใจ) อย่างแรกคือ เพื่อสะกดรอย ตามประวัตศิ าสตร์ทซ่ี บั ซ้อนของประเทศกัมพูชา และประเทศในเอเชียอาคเนย์ ทีถ่ กู ทำาให้แตกเป็นเสีย่ งๆ โดยสงครามทีม่ กี ารวางกลยุทธ์ (จากหลายฝ่าย) (เพื่อสะกดรอยตาม) ความรุนแรงที่เกิดขึ้นและผลตกกระทบ และ (เพือ่ สะกดรอยตาม) การต่อรองความเป็นคนทีแ่ ตกต่างกันไปในแต่ละพืน้ ที่ และสถานะ อย่างที่สอง คือใช้เป็นแบบอย่างในการศึกษาเปรียบเทียบ ผลกระทบในภูมิภาคที่มีค่านิยมและประวัติศาสตร์ร่วม มีการพัฒนา (ในแต่ละประเทศ) ที่มีบทบาทและผลตกกระทบซึ่งกันและกัน ทั้งนี้เพื่อ ทีจ่ ะพิจารณาถึงความเกีย่ วข้องกันของเทคนิคการควบคุมปกครองคนใน เอเชียอาคเนย์ อเมริกา และทีอ่ น่ื ๆ ในปัจจุบนั ท้ายทีส่ ดุ ผมมีความต้องการ ให้หนังสือเล่มนีถ้ กู เปิดและเคลือ่ นที่ “In Ong’s word, in chapter one “Land of No More Hope”, refugees remember a Buddhist-Khmer culture based on political and ritual subordination tempered by the Khmer-Buddhist emphasis on compassion, kindness, and mutuality. The Pol Pot regime radically desacralized society and over turned all aspects of social life, including family and gender relations.

I started tracing “Buddha is Hiding” because I thought the book could be looked at as a model; First, as a complex historical trace into Cambodia, and the region, ruptured by strategic warfare, violence, and negotiation on how to be human upon sites. Second, as a comparative study of the region that shares value, development, and history to examine South East Asia contemporary governing techniques in relation to modern America and other places. Lastly, I want to keep Ong’s text moving and open.”

After Care 2016 Rubbing

“ปี พ.ศ.2552 (ค.ศ.2009) เป็นปีสุดท้ายที่พื้นที่ด้านริมขวาเเละซ้าย ของหอศิลปวิทยนิทรรศน์ ได้ถูกใช้ในฐานะพื้นที่เเสดงงานศิลปะ ก่อนที่มันจะกลายเป็นห้องเก็บของในเวลาต่อมา เนื่องจากสิ่งตกค้าง ต่างๆ ที่หลงเหลือจากการจัดนิทรรศการเเสดงงานศิลปะในเเต่ละครั้ง ได้ฝากสิ่งของมากมายตั้งเเต่ขยะจนไปถึงงานศิลปะ พื้นที่ตรงนั้น กลายเป็นพื้นที่รกร้าง ดูไร้ชีวิต ปี พ.ศ.2553 - พ.ศ.2556 เป็นช่วงปีทผ่ี มได้ปฎิบตั หิ น้าทีเ่ ป็นเจ้าหน้าที่ ของหอศิลปวิทยนิทรรศน์ ห้องเก็บของที่ผมกำาลังพูดถึงเป็นพื้นที่ที่ผม ไม่ชอบเข้าไป ปลายปี พ.ศ.2558 ในฐานะทีผ่ มเคยเป็นผูร้ ว่ มงานในหอศิลปวิทยนิทรรศน์ ผมจึงได้รับคำาเชิญจากผู้จัดการหอศิลป์ซึ่งเป็นผู้คัดสรรผลงานใน นิทรรศการ “THROUGH THE PLACE AND IMAGE (2015)” ให้เข้าร่วมในโปรเจคนิทรรศการคู่กับจุฬญาณนนท์ ศิริผล ผมเลือกเอาร่องรอยต่างๆ ที่หลงเหลืออยู่บนกำาเเพงของห้องเก็บของ ในหอศิลป์ มาเป็นวัตถุดบิ ในการทำางาน ร่องรอยทีเ่ กิดจากกระบวนการ จัดเเสดงนิทรรศการศิลปะในเเต่ละครั้ง ไม่ว่าจะเป็นร่องรอยที่เกิดจาก การเเขวนงาน การซ่อมเเซม ต่อเติม ฯลฯ ไม่รู้ทำาไมผมถึงชอบมอง ร่องรอยพวกนัน้ ชอบคิดว่ามันมีทม่ี าจากอะไร ด้วยกระบวนการเเบบไหน ผมรู้สึกถึงความมีชีวิตชีวาในร่องรอยที่ถูกทิ้งไว้… ในการทำางาน ผมเลือกใช้กระบวนการ rubbing ผลสำาเร็จที่ได้มี ลักษณะคล้ายงานภาพพิมพ์ทพ่ี มิ พ์ขน้ึ ด้วยวิธกี ารทีเ่ รียกว่า embossing และ debossing หลังจากนั้นผม “โยกย้าย” ร่องรอยที่อยู่ในพื้นที่ปิด (private space) ที่มีเเต่บุคคลภายในเท่านั้นที่สามารถเข้าถึงได้ มาจัดเเสดงในห้องนิทรรศการที่เป็นพื้นที่เปิด (public space) ในระหว่างนิทรรศการดังกล่าวกำาลังจัดเเสดง ผมได้ข่าวร้ายจากอดีต เพื่อนร่วมงานว่า หอศิลปวิทยนิทรรศน์กำาลังจะถูกปิดในช่วงเดือน กุมภาพันธ์ของปี พ.ศ.2559 เป็นอีกครั้งที่ผมรู้สึกว่าอนาคตเป็นสิ่งที่ ไม่แน่นอน”

“Year 2009 was the last year in which the space at the right and left edges of the Art Center, Chulalongkorn University was used as art spaces, before it became storages. Resulted from the left over items from the art exhibition each year; from garbage to works of art were kept, that space became isolated and lifeless.

2010 – 2013 were the period where I worked as a staff at the Art Center. The storage I mentioned was the space I didn’t want to enter.

In the last period of 2015, as I used to be a part of the Art Center, I was invited from the manager who curated “THROUGH THE PLACE AND IMAGE (2015)” to join the exhibition cooperating with Chulayarnnon Siriphol.

I chose to bring traces that were left over on the walls of the storage and used them as materials to work: traces that were resulted from the process of organizing each exhibition, such as traces from hanging the works, traces from repairing the works, traces from enlarging the works.

I don’t know why I liked to look at those traces.

I liked to think where they came from, what processes they were resulted from. I felt jolliness in those left over traces…

I chose to use the rubbing method in my work.

The result was reminiscent to a print created with methods called embossing and debossing.

After that, I “moved” the traces which were in a “private space” where only inside staff could access and exhibit them in a “public space”.

While the exhibition aforementioned was being exhibited, I heard bad news from my old colleague that the Art Center would be closed down in February 2016. That is another time I felt that the future was uncertain.”

“ผมหยุดงานที่ผมเกือบทำาเสร็จเอาไว้เพราะมีหน้าที่อื่น งานภาพเขียน ชิ้นเล็กของผมมันก็ถูกตั้งไว้บนโต๊ะทำางานอย่างเงียบๆ อยู่หลายเดือน จนฝุ่นเริ่มก่อตัวบนผิวงานเป็นชั้นบางๆ ผมตัดสินใจปล่อยมันทิ้งไว้ อย่างนั้น โดยที่ผมไม่เข้าไปจัดการ ผมได้เห็นภาพของสิ่งอื่นที่ต่างไป จากความตั้งใจในตอนเเรก” “I stopped a work that I almost finished because I had other duties. My small painting was left standing on the working table quietly for months.

A thin layer of dust began to form on the surface of the painting. I decided to leave it still without me continuing to manage it. I saw another thing that was different from my initial intention.”

I let hair of brushes, dust particles from a construction site beside the apartment, an insect carcass that was dead by a brush falling onto it, and more things attach on it. All of this is a part of my actions moving around the canvas frame.

The result was a picture of an unorganized composition.”

With the vocals, which is infiltrated through a hoarse wall of guitar sound, making it confusing and not sure whether the sound heard is my voice or the vocals.

In the other aspect, the exhibiting room might be like a ship that is sailing slowly to the point that the shore can’t be seen.”

A Taiwanese journalist came to me and asked if I have ever heard the horse roaring.

A physical character of a monument or a statue is a cold object with no responding to sculpture - it is like a big rock, an unanimated, waiting to deteriorate by time. But why monuments/statues largely affect our consciousness and way of thinking as if those objects were alive? Considerably, monuments/statues don’t have their own voices, but they are spoken by history, place, size, so these objects convey some beliefs and myths circulated in one certain society.

I recorded a sound from places, and re-interpreted it; which is, to me, similar to a process of looking at a statue (and re-think). Although, I turned from the eyes to the ears. My reinterpretation through the ear has transformed the character of monuments/statues into a piece of classical music.

To me, the number of “screaming” monuments/ statues is substantial to composing a symphony, which is massively painful and powerful. This is a composition of dialogues among each other, which we never realize whether we are having a conversation, or they are simply talking to us alone.”

I didn’t believe what the teacher taught. When I studied about it, sound was made into a marvelous thing, but for me, “sound” is not more marvelous than Rembrandt’s paintings or contemporary art garbage in Palais de Tokyo. Sound is just a factor in creating works. The worst sound from the speaker of a villager’s radio is to me more sweet-sounding than giddy sound from the speaker of an 8-channel.

Sound doesn’t have to be made strange if I would talk about freedom.”

A reproduction of the original would make the originality decline as the original has its value of originality on its own. It brings up a question towards creation of works of art; if the original is imperfect on its own, would a reproduction create several imperfect items at once?

This work is an attempt to question on a process of acquiring norm; norm of truth, norm of beauty, norm of virtue, to the norm of judging perfection and imperfection socially, politically, and artistically.”

“ประเทศไทย เป็นประเทศที่ได้รับอิทธิพลจากปรัชญาพระพุทธศาสนา อย่างลึกซึ้ง ธรรมชาติกลายเป็นส่วนสำาคัญส่วนหนึ่งในชีวิต เราอยู่ใน สถานที่ีซึ่งเต็มไปด้วยความหมายที่โอบอุ้มคำาถามถึงความแข็งแกร่ง และความอ่อนแอของทุกชีวิต สำาหรับผมแล้ว สรรพสิ่งเหล่านี้ต้องถูก ตั้งคำาถามโดยศิลปะ คำาถามเกี่ยวกับชีวิตประจำาวันที่แท้จริงเหล่านี้ ได้ผลักดันตัวผมอย่างรีบเร่งให้สำารวจถึงสัญญะภายใน และสัญญะ แห่งชีวิต ในระหว่างการทำางานเวิร์กชอปนี้ ผมพยายามที่จะ บันทึกความงามชั่วคราวของชีวิตประจำาวันซึ่งมักหนีจากเราไปไกล ผมพยายามที่จะค้นหาความอัศจรรย์เล็กๆ โดยมุ่งเน้นไปที่ความมืดมิด อันเกี่ยวพันกับวัฏจักรแห่งธรรมชาติและชีวิต ผ่านการสังเกตและ การถ่ายภาพสแน็ปช็อต (snapshot) ศิลปะจะเป็นความบอบบาง อันวิจิตร สำาแดงความเคลื่อนไหวอันเจนโลก เต็มไปด้วยเรื่องราวอันมี มนต์ขลัง งานของผมได้กลายเป็นหนึ่งเดียวกับ <<จิตวิญญาณแห่ง สถานที่>> ซึ่งเป็นสถานที่ทั้งเชิงนามธรรมและรูปธรรม”

ได้ทำาการจัด เวิร์กชอปทั้งในฝรั่งเศสและ ต่างประเทศ โดยครั้งแรก ถูกจัดขึน้ ในจังหวัดหนองคาย ประเทศไทย ในหมู่บ้านที่ เขตชายแดนติดประเทศลาว ใกล้แม่น้ำาโขงการใช้เวลา ทำางานร่วมกัน ในครั้งนี้ ได้สร้างโอกาสให้จัด นิทรรศการอีก 3 แห่ง 2 แห่ง ในประเทศฝรั่งเศส และ 1 แห่งในประเทศไทย ซึง่ ได้ให้ประสบการณ์ความรู้ ในแต่ละระยะของขั้นตอน การทำางานและการเดินทาง

“Thailand is a country deeply influenced by the Buddhist philosophy, nature becomes essential in life. We are living in places full of meanings, carrying questions about every single life’s strength and weakness. For me, these things have to be questioned by art. These questions about the actual daily life, push myself urgently to explore inner signs, signs of life. During this workshop, I tried to capture the temporary beauty of the daily life, which is often getting away from us. By focusing on the darkness related to the cycles of nature and life, I tried to find small miracles, through observation and snapshots.

Art would be an exquisite fragility, manifesting sophisticated movement, carrying mythical stories.

My work has become one with the «spirit of the place», which is a mental and physical place.”

Le Pool P had organized a set of workshops in France and abroad. The first have been taken place in Nong Khai (Thailand) a village at the border with the Laos nearby the Mekong.

This shared work-time created an opportunity to set up three exhibitions; two in France and one in Thailand, enlightening each stage of the process and travel.
