Vernacular architecture is gaining more and more recognition already in the last century. Returning to the past is often a source of inspiration for creating something new. The value of the vernacular construction, however, was not as influential as that of an ancient Greek temple or Roman theater, which were officially recognized works. That is why contact with the vernacular was gradual, since it first required a systematic study of the societies that characterized it. The scope of this study, of course, is large and continues to this day adding new elements to the already recorded.
The findings of the analyzes on vernacular architecture are a trigger for a different contemporary architecture, using its past, after first understanding it. The present research aims first to understand the general principles of vernacular works at global level through examples and results of previous relevant research. It then focuses on a more systematic analysis of contemporary architectural compositions.
