ABOUT

This project is created by Tomas de Loo with the aim to support the development of post-graduate, emerging and established artists by providing them with a system of supportive and qualitative peer reviews.

It started by talking with artists and professionals about the tips and tops in their personal and professional development. As a result, it became clear that to become and remain a successful artist the produced works should be of high artistic quality and continuously new and relevant to its context.

Tomas’ professional background in advisory and auditing helped to set up a standardized way of working which artists can apply in their creative process.

The artWORKS peer review program wants to provide a method fitting a learning culture. To achieve this, a continuous process is needed including presentations of the artworks and receiving helpful, challenging reflections on the outcomes. This led to the program containing the support principle of peerreviews by artists.
