HOUSE VI House VI was designed by the american architect Peter Eisenman, between 1972-1975. It is located in Cornwall, Connecticut. The design began with a grid, which Eisenman manipulated in a way that the house was divided into four sections. Then, he used plans and volumes to create the tridimensional geometry. In the end, the building itself would be a “record of the design process”. The house is a sculpture on its site, and Eisenman wanted the users to be aware of living in a work of art. Ignoring the idea of “form follows function”, he created spaces that were unconventional to live with, like a bedroom where the couple have to sleep apart from each other, or a dinning room with a column hanging over the dinner table.

EXPLODED PERSPECTIVE The house is formed by lines, plans and volumes. This explosion highlights the lines represented by the pillars, since they are the less perceptual elements.
